I owned two - and didn't like either. That's not because it's not a good shaft, it is. I just don't like active tip shafts, and the dispersion that comes with them. To see what I am talking about, Phil M. swears by Fubuki - note how often he's in the fairway.

Had some great seccess with the Fubuki in the R9 460. I've tried a lot of aftermarker shafts and this seems to be a step above most of what I've tried.

the fubuki is like the blueboard and the whiteboard had a baby...spins like a whiteboard but feels like a blueboard. just my opinion; i use one in an old tour cleveland comp and still bomb it. Very smooth shaft but isn't as tight in the dispersion department as the whiteboard

for me i tried in my driver then had to change for a whiteboard.... wasnt for dispersion but just for launch... launched a little too high!!!

still have in my 3 wood and its perfect for that... wont be changing it soon...

This year, i have been "testing" drivers for two months now between the R11, 910D3, and 910D2, each with all kinds of different shafts and stiffness between stiff and x-stiff.
I have concluded that for me the 910 D2 with the stiff flex Fubuki Tour 73 x5ct wins hands down.
My swing speed is between 100 - 105 with a smooth transition.
Its hard to explain the feeling I get with this shaft.
On contact the feeling when hitting the sweet spot feels like no resistance or twisting than with the other shafts.
It feels as though the shaft is meeting the ball at the optimum release point. Not lagging, and not releasing too early.
The result is a medium to high trajectory with not much spin carrying @ 240 - 250 yds.
My first round using the Fubuki Tour, I hit every fairway on the front nine, and only missed two fairways all day.

I'm sold on these shafts!

I installed this shaft on my 909d2 driver and everything just clicked. i hit the ball very solid and the feel at impact is just awesome. tour players such as phil mickelson, martin kaymer and noh senyu plays this too, oh and did i mention tiger put it in play before as well.

i highly recommend this shaft to anyone

I liked the distance and launch angle of my Fubuki X63 gave as it was the first shaft that even attempted to match my swing needs (although the Harrison Stripper J was really good also). This shaft however struggled to keep me from going left, which only got worse as I ramped up the speed a little. This shaft would probably have worked better for me in a 75g or 80g weight but I don't plan on trying one of those anytime soon.

This is my favorite series out there for a driver shaft. I tried the Tour in a fairway and it was pretty good, but in the driver, I have the Alpha 60X and I could not be happier with it. Amazing feel, perfect launch and spin (low-mid) and excellent disnce and accuracy. I would recommend this shaft to anyone out there looking for a great driver shaft.

Active tip?

I believe that the Fubuki K has a stiff tip and mid section with a softer butt section.

Yes - the K has a stiffer tip and soft butt... The image provided by the OP appears to be the normal Fubuki, which are the one's I've had, and the reason for my post. I also question MR's thinking regarding the K; it's specs are similar to other proven MR shafts. Seem redundant.

Have it in a R9 non-460 and its money. Love this shaft. Would like to try it in a Superdeep if I could ever find one at a good price.

Has anyone tried the ax hybrid? AX f75 for the 3 wood? I want to raise my ball flight, especially with my 3 wood...will this shaft provide higher ball flight with tighter dispersion? Is it worth the extra $?

I found a Superdeep TP mint condition with head cover for $115.00 and purchased it. Can't wait to try my shaft in it.

After a year and a half with this shaft I would say it was great except for one flaw. The problem I found is that it's greatest strength is also it's greatest weakness. The active tip design helps a low/mid spinning shaft launch much higher which is great with no wind or a tail wind, but when you are playing into the wind and want to keep the ball down that is a very tough ask for this shaft. That is the only thing I wish would have been different.

IMO this shaft was one of the best options available at the time. Like everything else, it's about finding what fits you. I'm a strong player and have had trouble in the past with my trajectory. I even started hitting a 983 7.5 just to keep the ball down. This shaft (73x) in my 909d3 9.5 solved this problem. Workable, responsive, and she sure is pretty! Hang back then cover for best results. LOL IMHO

waiting on my 73x tour to arrive for my 910d3. Picked up lots of ball speed, spin and LA vs my ahina 70x. Love the feel of this. Have straight floaters that do not come down. I did a follow up fitting into a 25kmh wind and was still able to carry it within 15 yards of a no wind situation. It was still high but did not balloon

Correct me if I am wrong. So this shaft is a mid/high launch, low spinning shaft. Blueboard launch and feel with Whiteboard spin. Right?

Have a read of Tom Wishon's last thread, high launch low spin is a myth. Maybe some shafts spin a bit low for their height but the Fubuki definitely isn't Blueboard launch with WB spin IMO. Some were on this bandwagon early but the Fubuki is higher spin than the WB.

That's not to say it might not be a great shaft for you personally.
