Should right elbow be visible behind left arm?

At a face on view, at the top?
I am currently working on my swing to be more around the body aka a one plane swing. I have modeled my swing after Tiger's, studying his swing on his website. It has worked decently, as I have reduced my handicap from a 10 to a 6.

However, I have noticed that at the top, Tiger hides his right elbow behind his left arm while keeping his elbow to his chest. Although I can achieve a very similar position to Tiger's from down the line view (with the left arm just above the should plane and right elbow very close to the body), My right arm and elbow is visible at a head on view at the top unlike Tiger's. I think that this improper shoulder turn is a over swing (turning my arms after I have finished turning with my shoulder) and causing inconsistency and costing power and accuracy in my swing. When I try to "hide" my right arm, it results in a flying elbow, which is very different swing than what I'm trying to accomplish.

I have couple of questions.

1. What does this mean? That I'm not achieving a full shoulder turn? I'm hitting the ball with just my arms?

2. How can I fix this?

3. Is Tiger really on a one plane? It seems to me that he is in between one and two.

Thank you. :vava:

Tiger's swing is not perfect, and nobody swings on one perfect plane

if you are trying to make a change that feels very uncomfortable, a lot of times the mind thinks one think and the body is really doing something different

the only way to be sure you are making swing changes is by videotaping and watching later

if you provided some images or videos, I could see imore clearly what you are trying to describe

Its not just Tiger's swing. The right elbow is hidden behind the left in Adam Scott's, Ernie's, Michelle Wie's, Sergio's, Retief Goosen's...so on and on. Just about every tour player does so without having a "flying elbow".

Adam Scott swing sequence

If you view Adam's sequence from the face on view (or any others from a face on view), his right elbow is visible for a second on the backswing then hidden at the top while keeping his elbow close to body for a tight backswing (see down the line view).

I get to a similar position to Adam Scott or Tiger's from a face on view but the right elbow is visible from the face on view. I have tried to hide this by checking the mirror the whole day but cannot "hide" the elbow without achieving a flying elbow :vava: Can someone help me? What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

If you would like to promote this position with your right elbow, it is quite simple and it relates to the one plane swing.

Take your address position and bend your arms at the elbows until your forarms are parallel to the ground [do not bend your upper arms] now think of rotation in the backswing and rotate. You will instantly see the right elbow moves behind the body. The same thing happens in the forward swing, with the left elbo. What actually happens is your right elbow moves up and back at the same time. All this relates to a one plane swing that many on the tour are working on.
