"Almost" 18 holes of awesome golf...pics

Granville GC, just East of Columbus, Ohio. What a nice Donald Ross designed layout....Well almost anyway. There are 3-4 holes on the back nine that are very contrived and jammed in replacing the original holes that were sold for home lots. I hate it when people pimp out there Ross courses for get back some $$$ by adding houses onto the course! I really loved this course until I reached those holes. They really suck. The 18th hole just begs you to "grip it and rip it". VERY elevated tee box on a 350 or so yard par 4. What a great hole! 14-15 holes of nice, classic Ross golf..decent pro shop as well....Enjoy a few pics..

Granville - I raced a bunch of summers at the Granville GP. Man, I miss racing bikes in Ohio :drinks: I also miss the trees and green grass that all of its humidity and rain brings (ok, I don't miss the humidity or rain though). Nice pics!

just played there last week at company golf outing. completely agree about rearranging course on back 9...few holes snake through residential area. actually the CEO for my company his house is at the tee box on 18. His house is the one with the three car garage on the right as you approach the tee boxes, leave your trash in his yard.

typical ross course as it fits into the natural terrain, greens generally slope back to front, course not too long 6600ish from the tips but appropriate elevation changes and doglegs keep you from taking advantage of it. very pretty area and never too crowded.
