I'm actually formerly from SLC. But my favs out there were Mountain Dell (where I made an ace on the Lake Course, forget which hole number, but it was on the western most hole that goes along I-80) and Wasatch Mountain Canyon Course. Also loved Mill Creek, Bonneville and Wing Point.

#12 on the Lake Course. That's a pretty good ace. (I guess they all are!)

I work a part-time summer gig at Bonneville that gives me free golf at the SLC courses (Bonneville, Wing Pointe, Mt Dell, Rose Park, Glendale, Forest Dale, and Nibley.)

Sweet deal if you don't mind getting up at 5:00 AM all summer.

Back when I lived in SLC (in college) I would have gotten up the night before for that sweet a deal!

My sympathies to any Ute fans lurking around. Last week's game was incredible. Regardless of who you're rooting for, there's nothing like a hyped-up rivalry that goes down to the final play.

That was quite a game. Do you like how Bronco took a knee instead of the extra point to prevent another 34-31 game?

I noticed that as well, but I'm not sure if it crossed Bronco's mind.

I hear its been cold over there in Spanish Fork - a high of 22 yesterday and still 5" on the ground?!

I wish I was going to the bowl game, then I could maybe sneak in a round of golf.

Southern Utah now - St George

Born and raised in SLC. Bonneville was my home course. Still have the divot tool Dick Cramer gave me in 1970

If you ever make it down to the St George area give me a shout.

Dick was up for the City Am and looked great. He's gotta be 90 by now.

Hey Everyone, so now I guess there are six of us.

I'm in Riverton and my home course is Mountain Dell. There is a group of us that play a regular Wednesday afternoon game on the canyon course - and we're just crazy enough to walk it!

If anyone wants to get together for a game give me a PM.

Make that 8! I've lived in SLC most of my life. I mostly play the city courses (Mtn Dell included of course), except for maybe Rose Park these days. Man what happened to those greens?! They used to be the best around. Anyways, I hover around 10-12 handicap, send me a PM if anyone wants to play some time.

Make me number 10. Looks like I am the first to check in from Northern Utah. Live between Ogden and Brigham City. Usually play at the Ogden CC, but love to go play Birch Creek and Logan River in Cache Valley as well. I play off 9. We should organize a meet and greet for those interested. Maybe lunch and golf somewhere. Looking forward to meeting some of you.

So, does that make 12 of us? I think one of the moderators is from SLC, but I'm not sure. What a fall for golf, eh?

Hey guys... I'm headed to SLC with the wife the week of July 4th. She has a Dental CE on Wed, Thur and Friday so that means I get to play golf!! So... I'm looking for suggestions of the 3 MUST PLAY courses in and around SLC.

Thanks! If any of you are headed towards south Georgia, let me know. I'd be happy to point you in the right direction around here!

    Cheers!

    I like Wasatch Mountain http://stateparks.utah.gov/golf/lake-mountain

The have 36 holes so you could play 18, have lunch, and play the other 18. It is about 30 minutes east of SLC just past Park City.

Hobble Creek is one of my favorite but about an hour south of SLC

    http://www.springville.org/departments/golf/

    Bountiful Ridge is good http://www.bountifulutah.gov/golf/index.asp

    Valley View is great http://www.valleyviewutah.com/

Mountain Dell may not be a "must play" but it pretty good and is closer to SLC. Another 36 hole facility http://www.slcgov.com/publicservices/golf/MountainDell.html

Some people really like Thanksgiving Point. http://www.thanksgivingpoint.org/visit/golf/about.html

I would add Soldier Hollow to that list as well. They have 36 there as well and are pretty good designs with a lot of different tee options to play from. If you want to come North 30 miles we could play the Ogden Country Club. It is a great track. Let me know if you are interested.

The only other must play from the list above is Valley View. Great track and pretty challenging.
