Just about any course at Treetops in Gaylord Michigan will rank way up there.

But i think my favorite is Wild Bluff in Brimley Michigan where they play the Canadian Open.  Michele Wie has played that tournament

I should be adding more courses to my list soon, after my summer golf next year. There are a lot of course that I love to play but really aren't rated very highly.

the most "exotic" course I've played was Quinta da Marinha in Estoril (outside Lisbon) Portugal. Otherwise - I have not played too many exotic courses, but I really enjoy the "Tribute" here in the Dallas area, which has replicas from holes of famous English and Scottish courses.

My fav has to be Pebble Beach, it was an awesome place to play and stay. everything was beyond first class all the way. I was on my honeymoon and every place we went the staff seemed to know that we were the honeymoon couple. we played on a day that was sunny, plenty of blue skies and no wind ( which is unusual) . was a great experience and the view were unbelievable , my avatar is me on the 7th green :vava: we also played Links at Spanish Bay and it was a fabulous course as well. my wife has been asking me if we are going back and I tell her whenever we can find the time and get some money saved we are there ! have to admit the whole Monterey area is a great place.... so many sights and wildlife to see, would love to move to the area some day.

Living in the Chicago area, there are no shortage of quality courses. The ones I've been lucky enough to play are:

Medinah #3

Olympia Fields

Butler National

Rich Harvest Farms

Blackwolf Run (River and Meadow Valleys)

Whistling Straights (Straights)

and, of course, my home course, Aurora CC, a beautiful old Tom Bendelow design!

It is hard to define favorites, I have played so many courses that it is hard to put my finger on one or two.

Whistling Straits

Black Wolf Run

TPC Sawgrass (all TPC courses that I have played are great)

The Orchards (home of US Am. Pub Links)

TPC Michigan ( one of my home courses)

Indianwood G & CC ( old and new courses- my other home course)

Troon North

Wee-Ko-Paw (and many others in AZ.)

I have only played a few "famous" courses but here they are in order:

1) The Dunes Club - Myrtle Beach

2) Biltmore Forest - Biltmore Forest, NC (Donald Ross course)

3) The Ocean Course - Kiawah Island

4) Caledonia - Pawleys Island, SC

5) Pawleys Plantation - Pawleys Island, SC

I have played nearly all of my golf in the South, except for a few trips to California. I am going to AZ in October, so my list may change.

Wow, everyone has played at alot of well known courses! I unfortunately have not, so my list will be rather unknown.

The Links at Union Vale (NY)

East Lake (San Diego, CA)

Beekman Country Club (NY)

Tashua Knolls(CT)

Coronado (San Diego, CA)

Candlewood Valley (CT)

Maple Moor (NY)

Also (And this doesn't sound like a big deal) but Beekman Country Club is where I hit my first 250+ Drive that was a Draw to land on the fairway. I've been playing that course a lot this summer.
