Any recommendations?

I know we have some guys from the Islands here and I know they get some pretty good local rates. So what's the scoop? Where do you guys play?

I play Koolau pretty much every Tuesday. Once known as the Nations toughest course. It's a little easier now since they first opened since they eliminated about 40 traps, but I think they still have about 14 drop zones. Some say playing Koolau is like playing in Jurassic Park. It's very "jungle" similar to Luana Hills which is about ten minutes away. Total target golf course. I used to hate it but since playing it a lot more often, it's made all the other courses on the island easy.

Another place I like to play, but for us in Hawaii....a far drive of 1 1/2 hours, is Turtle Bay the Palmer Course. Beautiful drive, and beautiful location. It reminds me of the "old Hawaii" far from the city noise and buildings.

OH....a hint for those playing in Hawaii, if you have the time, get a State of Hawaii ID card. You'll need an original copy of your birth certificate, Social Security Card, and if you're married an original copy of your State wedding certificate. Using the State ID can get you local or "Kamaaina" rates which will easily save you a $100 round. I've got connections at the State ID office so I can mail anyone the application if they need it. It might take you an hour or so to get, but well worth the time.
