Tiger Putter?

I'm new to this site and have enjoyed the opinions and info.

Let me get to the point. I have a friend that purchased a putter at a flea market in Florida. The putter is an older Cameron "anser style" putter with a copper insert (Teryllium) in the face. There is no shaft band. It appears to be about 34" long and seems to be a little flat. What is interesting about the putter is that on the face at the toe is the name "Tiger Woods" and the grip is a rather old ping grip that has had the logo blacked-out with ink.

I would question the whole set up, but the grip is clearly cracked and worn as well as the head is somewhat rusted. He only paid $5 for the putter in a barrel. Is it possible this is a putter once belonging to #1. I know it sounds unbelieveable but I've seen the putter.

I sell items for friends on eBay and am a little reluctant to list this one because of it's possible history. What do you think would be a good solution?

He's bring the putter to me in the next couple of days so I can take pictures. At that time I can post them for your opinions.

P.S. This is my first post I hope I haven't broken any rules.

I would like to see some pictures of this putter. Then we could probably help you better.

Also, you can send it to get authenticated. The only problem is that if the stampings are fake, then you will get a C-COA and smart people will always be able to check the registry to prove that it's fake if you intend to sell it on fleabay.

Send it in for resto and COA. The worst that can happen is you get back a Mint TEI3 that has a "C" COA for aftermarket stampings. Most of his putters, even his backups, are accounted for though, and a collector would have them, not a flea market.

WTF MAN, Forget History and all that b.s, if its authentic and actually the putter of TW then you could sell that thing and get millions. Who needs an old scotty lying around in your bedroom just so u can say u own tiger woods' putter, it would just end up stolen. If its you that has it or your buddy or whatever tell him to get rid of that as asap, but he has to make sure somehow that it is TW's putter

That's why he needs a COA. Trust me, I collect camerons and I know thatneither I, not anyone I know thatcollects them would even give the amount he paid. Without a COA, it's scrap metal. Pretty scrap metal to be sure, but worthless.

Got Tiger's putter????? I don't thnk he is in the habit of giving out his putters after a round. He has been using that same one for quite some time, and has gone on the record saying that " I have used putters that felt better, but I have one x# of tournaments with this one so i am not giving it up" He was also quoted after this yeras masters stating he sent the putter back to scotty for a little tune up.

So please clarify what you mean when you state you know the guy who has tigers putter. one he picked up and hit a couple of putts with on the practice green.

I finally have some pics for everyone to review and give me your thoughts. The more I think about it, I think the proper thing to do is email Tiger's website with the pics and see if there is any response. It may have been stolen from his bag at so point.

Tiger or his people will never answer your emails. Contact Scotty Cameron Studio and they will tell you if its authentic or not. If it is, you can get a certificate from Scotty and it could be worth $$$$

At first glance, that doesn't look like Scotty's stamps..

I'm curious as to what the lead tape is covering up...

Send it in to SC and stop all the "I had a mate that had a mate that knew a guy that knew TW's garbage man and he found this lying outside"..."I'm gonna mail Tiger and see what he says" - SC can say whether it is authentic so get on with it ! I think we are all interested in the outcome so don't delay. Chop chop !!!

That's the same type he was using as an amateur.

I think this is very interesting. As stated above send it in to the studio.

I noticed no TeI3 stamp unless this is a sole stamp model...Tiger used this model in the 97 Masters.

For the millionth time, send it in to SC...we demand satisfaction - can we lock this until you do, and before the suspense kills us ! ? ! All this speculation is doing my head in. Some bugger will count the dots next...

He used that putter in high school as well.

JUst post the pictures on cameroncollector.com and they will confirm it is fake and probably worth less than a OTR one. Still a nice pick up for the price-

That putter is 100% fake. It was an OTR TeI3 that someone stamped "Tiger Woods" on the face (in the wrong spot), put a Pingman grip on, and then had the face milled to take the TeI3 logo off. The face milling explains why the stamps are in such crappy condition and so shallow and also why the user had to put lead tape on the bottom.

Terrible stamp job - even in the face was not milled as mentionied above. Fake.

Before sending it in, email the pictures to:

[email protected]

They will tell you if its real or modified. Then, if its real you can have it authenticated. Ask them all the questions you have and they will answer them for you.

It is amazing what people are coming up with here, they are just talking with no real clue except for a few. Email the pics and see what happens.

I say you mess with people in here and just leave it alone. Its a great conversation piece. Real or not real let it be. Is everyone in here under the illusion that Tiger as been given tour putters the whole time hes been playing? NOT!!! Who knows maybe him and his buddies all stamped their putters. Not hard to do. Yes he was one that putted with lead tape on the bottom. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM very interesting!! Just have fun with it!!! Suspence is killing all these golf nuts. That is what we are golf nuts!! Thats why we sit here all night reading. We are waiting for things like this to test or thought of realism. I am also glad you posted picks since no one even thought you would do that.. You know what..... my father is the biggest Tiger fan!! His basement is a fricken Tiger shrine!! I would love to see him X-Mas morning open a box and see this putter in it. He wouldnt care if its real or fake he would just love the thought that he has Tigers putter!! We all get worked up about the littlest things. Scotty puts a circle t stamp which takes 4 seconds and you guys pay $1500-$5000 for a putter. Thats why I love this game. It never ends!! Its like Crack!!! Im not trying to start trouble. I hope everyone hits it square and has an ace the next time you play. I just think golfers are there own race. We are a rare breed and thats what is great. Just my thoughts.......
