A true afficiando can't be bound to one. Most Cameron collectors have some very good pieces as well. Each Putter designer has a little unique design aspect to their putters and so its very personal...

I get what you are saying. I loved my old Ping Anser specify, but it wasn't as nice a feeling putter as the Mil Spec I had previously. Same can be said about the Yes! Callie I just sold - a great putter, but a bit dead feeling wise. I have only tried Bettinardi's when they were branded Ben Hogan and didn't think much of them personally.

I realize that I am extremely biased, but the T.P. Mills Professional Series putters are the only ones that I know of that get touched by their maker, everyone of them. I don't know that any of the other putter makers can say that.

T.P. Mills Putters

The Mills do look very much like handmades.

I agree with GX. If you limit yourself to one designer, how can you truly enjoy the experience? I have no outright favorites, as far as designers. I have my favorite putters, of course. There are sooooooooo many great flatsticks out there, right now it is frightening. The guys who have been in the background for a long time, like Byron Morgan, are really starting to get some sticks out there and getting the recognition that they have long deserved.

I am a Scotty Byron Mills Slighter Palombi Moore Ping fan..................is that allowed?

Love the chance to post and see what is posted around me.

Thanks for starting a thread that should be quite interesting.

Haha - yes of course that's allowed - I knew I missed something off the poll..!!!!

I saw so many threads with people loving all sorts of putters it kinda made sense to run a poll :idhitit:

I voted Scotty

But i like a face balanced putter in a "newport" style head, so what ever company makes one similar to that i'll give it a try.

mmmmmm. . . maybe a custom Slighter Portland. . haha theres an idea :idhitit:

Probably my worse problem is I'll putt with pretty much anything of high quality and craftsmanship. Which usually equates to high dollar.

I don't keep contain my collection to any one brand or style. There's a little something that appealed to me in every putter I've purchased played and shelved.

I like my Scotty Camerons, especially my Asian Circa 3, but I wouldn't mind trying one of the Mills putters. Is there any comparison between the Mizuno Mills and the more expensive Mills putters?

there is a very similar feel to the Mizuno Mills and what is being made today. However, the Mizuno Mills have a "zinc-ish/nickel" coating over the carbon that according to a few takes away from the feel.

Like a fine 18 year old scotch, David Mills putters are something that can only be truly enjoyed after years of refinement on 'all the others', smooth, subtle, no extra frills, just pure and simple--but finely crafted, complex, beautiful perfection that requires a developed pallette to truly appreciate.

For me it's all about the design and material of the putter. My preferred putter is a heel shafted blade, with a definite love of the 8802 style. Right now, I'm rotating between three carbon steel Bettinardi BB2 putters, my personal favorite being the Prototype stamped BB2.

I've also putter and owned putters from Cameron, Moore, Grace, Wilson (including a Designed by Palmer), Cleveland, and tons of others. I'm trying to stick with the Bettinardi right now to hone my putting, but I need more practice.

I always like something a little different that performs -

In 1996, I began using Scotty's. In 2002, I went to Betts, had a rebound to a Scotty Studio Design 1.5, then a brief affair with the Bobby Grace MOI, then Slighter, but have now putted with TP Mills since 2005 - the feel, technology (parallel pockets, exact sweet spot) balance, weight, materials, design, crafsmanship, art, grace and performance of David Mills' putters are unmatched.
