I saw an Ad in the latest GD about these. First thing that came to my mind was a knob adjustable Reebok pump...

One of the first areas (other than horse boots) to adopt the Boa system was the snowboard industry. As an obsessive snowboarder and certified gear ho, I can tell you that the Boa system has not been particularly well-received in the snowboard industry, where the fit of your boot directly effects your performance on the hill. For one, the Boa system doesn't give you the option of "zone" lacing. That is, loose on one part of the boot, tight on the other. Additionally, the Boa system cable gets stuck in the reel a lot. I've been with friends who had to cut the cable to get out of their snowboard boots. However, you probably aren't tightening golf shoes as tight as snowboard boots, so that might not be an issue.

Personally, I think it's a lot easier to tie the laces on my shoes than it is to turn that Boa dial a bunch of times.

The ReelFit will not be available until 11/1 or possibly even 12/1.

Working in a golf retail store, and having the privilege of seeing new products before they are released to the public, yada yada, I personally am not sold on these shoes. I think they look really nice, especially the all black ones. As mentioned above, the Boa system was first ‘invented’ for snowboarding, but snowboarding and golf are on different ends of the spectrum.

As to the shoes themselves... They were very padded and had a very nice arch support along with a 2 year waterproof warranty. I have a feeling most people will see this shoe as a gimmick though and not want to pay upwards of $185 for them. The rep said that the tour players ‘fell in love with them’ and wanted a pair right away. But as for myself… I’ll stick to my 360’s.

I think they're very comfortable and everything, but I think they just look weird. I mean not having laces on them is bad enough but then you add a mutation on the heel and it just doesn't work for me..kind of like the RBK 8K pump skates

Ill Start by saying they are one of the ugliest looking shoes ever with the big knob hanging off the back. But when the rep broght them by and i got to try them on they were surprisingly comfortable and very east to get on and off. You twist the little knob to tighten them perfectly and then pull it out to release the reel and you walk out of them. They are very innovative and good shoes if you can get past the look.
