Cotton vs. Microfiber Pants

Personally, I want to look nice, but I don't care about fashion. And I really don't want to spend a ton of cash that could be spent on new clubs and on lessons.

Thanks. Good to hear that they are still breathable. I have seen a couple of versions that had a "rubbery" feel to them (if that makes sense). Not sure if I could deal with that. But as long as they are somewhat natural feeling, I think I may try a pair. Any particular brand recommendations?

My favorite golf pants are dockers microfiber golf pants. They have them at mervyns and kohls. They're on the kohls website if you need to order them if you don't have one around. They're the best, and pretty light weight. Plus, they don't break the bank.

If value is what you want, then the best bang/buck are the Tommy Hilfiger Microfiber pants from Costco. They're only $30.00. They are breatheable, comfy, and classy.

They're originally like $70.00 I think.

Gotta go with microfiber, especially in the PNW. As often as I have to put on and take off my rain pants, microfiber is much more comfortable to wear under rainpants than cotton. Plus, it seems to melike the microfiber will stay drier than the cotton. I picked up a bunch of pairs of microfiber shorts at the Izod outlet in Northbend, WA. The Dockers Golf microfiber pants are also a good deal (about $25 at Fred Meyers). Hope this helps.

Izod do a great range of microfiber and if you have a factory outlet center near you, they will probably have an Izod with some serious discounts (virtually all pants at $30 or less). They also do really nice shirts for $10-$20 after discount..

Microfiber all the way. I've been wearing Greg Norman MF pants for years and they are super comfortable and stain resistant. A printer cartridge exploded on a pair of khaki color pants and simply washed out! As mentioned, they are breathable and tend to dry quicker when wet.

Another vote for MICROFIBER.

I buy Norman, Ashworth, Nike, PingCollection, and many other great brands at my local ROSS or Steinmart stores. If you have these in your area - check 'em out!!

knollwoodassistant, those C&B pants look niiiiiccccee. I may have to get a pair in the future. But for now, I think I'm going to give the Dockers MF pants a shot. Lots of recommendations and good prices.

What do you guys do for long sleeve/warmer shirts. On a muny, I would probably just grab a fleece jacket or vest. But I'm starting to go to nicer courses and I want to fit in. My game is already going to make me stand out, and not in a good way, so I don't want to also look like a slob.

Well Greg Norman makes some very good microfiber shorts/pants, and as far as warmer shirts.... i just go with underarmor
