Can anyone recommend someone?

I've decided to reshaft my callaway x-20's. Still debating on whether to go with the PX 6.0 or the s300, but in either case I can't seem to wrap my head around how much the big box stores want to do the job.

I got quoted ~650$ for PX 6.0 installed, and ~$500 for s300.

At that rate I may as well buy a few sets of shafts and try and learn to do them my self.

Can anyone recommend a store around the area (or the tulsa area, I have family there) that will install shafts? Just having a hard time believing the going rate is ~50$ a shaft.

Is this something I ought to learn to do myself anyway? I'm a fairly good DIY kinda guy (done all the modifications to my truck and previous cars, all my own regular maintenance etc etc), but I'm alittle worried about destroying the clubs and then having to buy new ones

Let me know what you all recommend!

Joehs, If you are worried about damaging the clubs, you could always snag a cheapy from a pawn shop or goodwill and try that one first before you start tinkering with the callys... as for a shop to go to, I really don't have a recommendation but I know there are quite a few shops here in OKC that might be able to do it for you. Try Golf Galaxy on Memorial and Penn. i think they do it for relatively cheap but i could be completely wrong on that.

Tim does do a great job, BUT he new shop is open with limited shop hours.

My other favorite place to do local club work is with Davis (405)721-4600 at "the Golf Outlet" on Meridian and NW Expressway. Very experienced club maker that I would trust to do my club work when I don't want to do it myself.
