I know I just hate having to see those stupid drive way markers in everyone's bag.

I think people with mixed brands tend to have better games than those who have all of one brand. That is unless they're sponsored tongue.gif

This could be a misconception though, as my bag is like this rolleyes.gif

I am very famous for doing this.

If I see Mizuno, B-Stone, Titleist... I often think, guy/girl is a flat out player.

to me an all titleist bag or r11 throws up a poser flag. I see so many guys who have these and dont have game at all. I always feel like i have to hit my driver good or i look like that poser.

    Adams CB2 4-PW

    Vega Rawf 03 52*, 57*, 60*

Scotty Cameron Del mar, black chrome with custom paintfill

    Sun mountain 3.5 (black)

basically my entire bag is black

Again: poser, fanboy, gamer, or other?

The wedges give it away. Vega, Miura, Chikara and the like are a rare sight in a sea of Callaway, Cleveland, and Vokey. I can't usually draw a conclusion about someone's ability based on having an unusual / "exotic" group of wedges like these, but what I would guess is that you're interested in equipment, so I'd be keen to chat about that a bit in between shots / holes and would probably ask if you'd ever heard of GolfWRX. cool.gif

Any other thoughts from anyone else?

What does the all black mean, poser or gamer?

They would probably think I'm a poser. To that though, I probably am playing more club than I need to be. Oh well.

I always pay attention to what other people are playing. While you can't always judge a book by its cover, a lot of times you can make some qualified judgments. Played with a guy not long ago that had a mismatched bag of Nike clubs. But there was a reason for each club. You could just tell he was a gamer. He promptly whooped my butt.

    Play off 12~15 now

Nike cci irons P~5 Honma Blades 4~3

    Srixon Driver and fairway woods

    No name wedge

No name mallet putter I've had for 36 years

Between 1989 ~ 1998 played of single figures down to scratch.

Cheap Slazenger womens irons that my mother didn't want. 3~9

Spalding persimmon woods from the late 60s or early 70s (also my mothers clubs) then later some tiny headed wilson firsticks

    Same putter

    No wedge

Looking at both bags who would you say was the better golfer?

When I see an aftermarket shaft in a hybrid/fairway and then it's a Diamana and then it's an X flex and 90+ grams I think you would be a player.

Either really good or really bad, most likely bad because very few people can play a 7* driver, but who knows, could be a scratch

I'd guess you hit it long but are wild off the tee causing some blow up holes. Not a natural putter but you don't 3 putt too often. Swing irons too hard and that costs you accuracy. Don't threaten par much but play a tough course. The cart girl probably flirts with you but you're not interested in that, you're too mad about the penalty strokes from your wild a** 300 yd tee shots. Close?

I think people would think I'm a total club ho and that I just have to have the newest and coolest clubs and shafts. They would think that I'm another run of the mill hacker with nice equipment. I carry a bunch of hybrids at times and sport a belly or long putter which to most people screams- hopeless. I would think that if they judged my clubs and then my double inverted nad twister golf swing they would give me however many shots I wanted. And I would slaughter them. I learned a long time ago to never judge any player before seeing the product. I once played a match against a guy with three fingers on one hand and a finger and a thumb on the right hand. His clubs were beat to heck and he was close to 50. Well, he proceeded to play the first 13 holes in 11 under par and finished the round Bogey-Bogey for 62. Mindboggling!!!!

Not to get too far off topic, but I hit this 8 degree driver so high, I get little to no roll if the fairways are even moderately soft. Blasted my best this morning to 287, with no roll.. The ball was about 8 inches behind the crater it made in the fairway. Not bad for a 56 year old... image/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I hate it when that happens... x-stiff shaft helped me with this a little it's just our swing path we come in to steep...

Lol funny story about that actually. I went into "winter mode" which is essentially putting all of my extra clubs into extra bags and putting them in the building. I had an old Cally stand bag totally full, and a Marshall University cart bag totally full as well. I have them sitting in my living room getting ready to take them over when I hear a bang. I walk over and pick up the Cally bag only to see that I actually broke the legs on the bag. The thing was so heavy the legs just gave out. I just had to laugh.

I just had to laugh.

were you there during the Randy Moss/Chad Pennington years?

At Marshall as a student, no. In Huntington, yes. I grew up here so I watched most of the games. I was at the Army game sitting in the corner of the end zone when Moss hopped over the guy and scored. It was pretty awesome watching those two.

People would probably have a what the heck moment with my bag.

Driver - TM Burner with Bubble II shaft. Half the time when I pull it out people think it's a 3-wood.

    3-wood: PowerBuilt Persimmon

Irons: Mizuno Pro-IIs, 2-PW, lovingly worn, all with just a bit of lead tape backing

Wedges: Well broken in Mizuno MP-11s

Putter: Odyssey White Hot #3 with and unknown but perfect-feeling amount of tape. 8 1-inch strips on the heel and toe, six in the center. Perhaps I'll get it professionally done at some point, but it's unfinished look is **** to me for now.

I'm sure anyone who looks at least assumes there's a method to it all, or that I was drunk when I put it all together. As to other people, I haven't bothered looking in other bags since I stopped playing with my friends regularly after I was done with junior golf.
