WRX EXCLUSIVE! TaylorMade Experts Talk 2012 Product with GolfWRXers
On December 20, TaylorMade joined us for 2 1/2 hours of live Q&A. Click the link below to view.

LIVE Q&A STARTS HERE >>> CLICK ME

TaylorMade just announced the arrival of their new metalwoods and irons for 2012, including more images and information about the incredible new RocketBallz franchise and the next generation of the R series drivers in the R11S. After a great 2011, they are definitely bringing it to the marketplace again next year!

That said, such a line-up creates some questions for the golfer – Which driver is right for me? Where did the name RocketBallz come from? – and luckily for WRX, TaylorMade's experts will be coming here, live and exclusive, to help answer your questions.

We're using this thread take your questions for TaylorMade about the 2012 line… their product and R&D experts will be here on Tuesday, December 20, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. EST to answer. Feel free to leave your questions starting today and join in next Tuesday.

P.S. If you need some incentive to leave a good question: TaylorMade is giving 3 of the "Special Edition" packages to GolfWRX. Anyone who gets a question answered will be entered into a random drawing for a shot at one of the three 3-wood kits. Good luck and fire away!

How is the RBZ driver compared to the R11s as far as distance goes? Is one more forgiving or longer? Thanks

Sorry, that was an obvious and already stated question. I'll try one more: Say I'm shopping a Taylor Made driver next year- what will make me choose the R11s over the RBZ or vice versa?

as a golfer looking for a new driver or fairway wood, what are the benefits/drawbacks of the R11S woods vs. the new RBZ woods? what types of golfers is each line targeted for? Thanks WRX and TM for the thread.

Well we obviously know that the R11s fairway woods will allow for adjustably. What I am interested in is the setup of the Standard and Tour tour versions of the RBZ? Setup square, Open, Closed? Neutral, draw of fade weighted? Will these Tour versions of the RBZ be as fade biased as the Burner 2.0 TP?

What seems to be more benificial in adding distance: adjustable flight control or longer, lighter shafts?

Also, where does a manufacturer possibly go from here in terms of increasing performance under current USA regulations?

Love the avatar Sakman.....

By upgrading to the R11s, what will I gain compared to the older R11 in terms of performance? Or is it just additional adjustability?

With the enhancement of the R11 line, will this also open the door to more additions in the publicly available TMAG R11 graphics "aftermarket" shafts? If so, what new shafts are anticipated first (Ahina 70 & 80, AD DI, Kioyshi, etc)? If no expansion in shaft selection is anticipated, please explain.

Thanks GolfWRX and Taylor Made!!!

What is the static head weight difference in the R11 440 headed driver and the R11S 460 head?

What is the shaft length of the RBZ 3 wood, and 5 wood?

Will there be a 4 wood offering in the RBZ line?

Will there be new wedge line offering for 2012?

Why is it better for the MWT ports to be closer to the face than towards the rear of the club head like in the R9 Super Tri head?

At this point, people seem to think of Titleist and other brands for workability and professional standards as far as drivers and woods are concerned, how will rocketballz and the new r11 help change the viewpoint of the internet junkies and show that taylormade is not only forgiving but the best choice from a performance and workability standpoint?

With both the new R11s and RBZ series drivers/woods having adjustable hosels, what will differentiate the two? Will the R-series still be targeted towards the more "control" oriented golfer while the RBZ series towards the "distance" oriented golfer? Going forward, will Taylormade continue to evolve the adjustability factor of clubs i.e. offer only clubs with FCT/MWT/hot-swappable shafts/etc?

I have always been an on and off Taylormade user since my Pittsburgh Persimmon through my R7 and 500 series. When there is great technology and performance in a classic look, I'm in, but when I get lost a little when looks change dramatically in a short term. I am not a big fan of different shapes, or extra flash. I understand the white concept, however I don't really get all of the extra work on the crown.

Can you describe the mindset behind all of the crown graphics on both new lines, and what purpose they serve?

Thanks for doing this TM and Golfwrx, best of luck in the new year!!!

First, KUDOS to a wonderfully successful 2011 with the R11 and Burner Superfast 2.0 drivers and fairway woods. They have been a HUGE hit. To follow-up on that success will be a true challenge. As other OEM's appear to be gravitating towards "simple is better", how can you convince the customer that "more adjustability is better" with the R11S? What makes the R11S "better" than the R11? What data is available to support this?

Question 1: With the past years introduction to slots, on fairways. Nike is the only one who has put the compression channel on there driver. Why does the RBZ driver not have a slot, are there restrictions or ???

Question2: What measure did you go through to make sure the speed slot does not interact harshly or badly with turf.
