Today was secondary fermentation day. Had to move the Dunkel and the Kolsch to their glass Carboys to cold crash for a few weeks. Smelled amazing, can’t wait to keg these. Should be ready for consumption the last weekend of September.

    Pumpkin Beers

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale - horrible, poured it down the sink. This was such a great pumpkin ale 9-10 years ago, but it hasn't been good in a long time. I think I'm done buying this one in the future.

Hoppin Frog Double Pumpkin - just as good as it was before. Will continue to buy this one each year.

Weyebacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale - another bad year for them. Too much of a spice and not enough pumpkin or sweetness for me.

Thirsty Dog Imperial Pumpkin Ale - Delicious!! This is one of the best pumpkin ales I have had in a long time. This will compete nicely with Hoppin Frog's bourbon barrel aged Double Pumpkin.

I tried Southern Tier's Pumking, but it was too hot out to really enjoy. Will try again when it's cooler outside.

Oddly, pumpkin is not a taste I enjoy in beer, but my local brewery makes a sweet potato beer that is quite the delicious variation of the traditional German dunkel.

Assuming this is a Deschutes offering? Don't think I've seen a scotch barrel aged abyss offering.....had the 2016 and 2017, I believe partially barrel aged.....there seems to be so many different varieties, hard to keep straight. I've enjoyed the ones I've tried....lots going on!

Southern Tier does these well. Cold press coffee pumpking and warlock are both solid. I also like Avery Pumpkyn and Rumpkyn. Pumpkyn is my go-to beer when taking my son trick-or-treating. 👻

Ohio raised their ABV on beer, so I hope I can find those around here this year as I've wanted to try both of those Avery beers.

I also like Warlock, but I prefer to mix 50/50 Hoppin Frog Double Pumpkin and either Hoppin Frog BORIS the Crusher Stout or DORIS the Destroyer Stout.

I recently got to try Cigar City Brewing - Good Gourd after a friend brought me back a couple of bottles from a trip to South Carolina. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but definitely top 5.

I tried the Deschutes fresh hazed yesterday on the course and it was pretty good. I'll be having a few more over the weekend, especially Sunday when I'm getting my once a year chance to play my favorite course.

I have not been out to buy beer in a while, stash at home still kinda overflowing. Went to Whole Foods last night to pick up some fresh IPA for summit beers for tomorrows climb and I noticed their selections have really gone to [email protected] They used to have a pretty wide variety of options now it is just blah run of the mill national offerings and even more run of the mill local stuff.

    16%, 😲

Enjoyed a Cassian Sunset from Central Waters last night at one of the local sports bars....was surprised to see it on tap. A nice barrel aged stout with cinnamon and some coffee and vanilla too. Tasty.

Heading to Denver this weekend for the first time. Staying downtown and no car. Anyone have some recommendations for breweries that are a must stop?

While not a brewery, Falling Rock Taphouse in LODO is pretty solid. I know Dogfishhead set up some type of deal there with lots of taps and food, but I haven't been there yet. I love Great Divide too, some of the better beer you can find out that way. I'm pretty sure they have a tasting room or some type of presence downtown. I used to go to Denver for work all the time, but it's been a couple years now so I'm not sure what's changed.

    Badger State Brewing- Badger 4

Belgian Quad aged in Cognac barrels. Not much for Belgians, but this one is a winner. Punch of sour followed by some dark fruit flavor and the barrel aging puts it over the top!

There’s so many places now dude but this is my favorite downtown area, but I like metal and stuff so it’s right up my alley.

Seriously so many options, look at an area with a few close by, take an Uber, smoke a Duber, and crank that liver up to 11
