Craft beer Drinkers Unite!

Slapjax7s

Recommended Posts

I used to drink the big labeled beers, Sam Adams, Coors, etc... After spending time with my neighbor, he introduced me to the World of Craft beer...THANK GOD!

I am interested to hear what everyone here drinks or collects and what they like. I will go first.

I would have to say my favorite is Dog Fish Head as a brand as well as the collectables. In NJ here there is a Brewer called Beach Haus which i have began to like on a Summer basis, but will indulge a little in the winter with their Winter Rental (Lager.)

My Top 5 that I buy on a daily basis is as follows:

Dog Fish

Dale's Pale Ale (can's)

Lagunitas

Troegs

Full Sail & Session

What's everyone else like?!

Mammoth Brewery

Only found in about a 50 mile radius around Mammoth. Amazing beers and I always stock way up when I go up there. Truly never had a beer that from them that I didn't love.

2. Lost Coast.

Their Great white is the best white ale I've had

3. some might call this heresy but Dogfish Head comes in third, possibly just because I've personally been to the other two brewerys.

Oh and of course the best craft beer ever. Coors Light hee hee

I'm a big IPA fan so that is reflected in my favorites.

IPA - Bear Republic Racer 5, Cigar City Jai Alai, Terrapin Hopsecutioner, Lagunitas, Stone, Avery, Victory Hop Devil, Victory Hop Wallop, and more.

Marzen (Oktoberfest) - Paulaner

Hefeweizen - Paulaner

Stout - Guiness and Left Hand Milk Stout

I like a lot of beers but these are the ones I drink the most.

Lost Abby serpent stout is legit! Need to try some of their other stuff, if it even comes close then I'll be a fan.

I love the left hand milk stout, and Sonoran makes a seasonal white chocolate ale that is delicious, makes an awesome black n tan with the youngs double chocolate stout.

Not a fan of ipa for the most part, but I'm drinking a San tan ipa from a can right now and it's going down pretty well.

I've got to hand out the most disgusting beer I've ever tasted award to bells cherry stout. It was disgusting, like drinking bad tasting robotussun. Not a fan of anything bells puts out.

Big fan of nimbus, delirium, and fireside beers.

Had a 3 floyds in Chicago that was absolutely yummy, but haven't seen it in az yet.

All in all, not of these will ever replace the hole I have in my heart(and stomache) for my beloved cafferys Irish ale.

I am not a fan of the Cherry Stout but I really like a lot of Bells beers. Kinda surprised you don't like any of their beers. I guess to each their own.

I'll have to try some more varieties then, I'm not quick to totally give up on a brewery
[/quote]

If you like IPA's their Two Hearted Ale is awesome. I also like their Hopslam and Oberon a lot. Amber Ale, Best Brown and Ocktoberfest are good too.

My all-time favorite is Founders Breakfast Stout (which a couple of people already have mentioned). I also enjoy the following:

Delirium Tremens, Nocturnum, and Noel

Bell's Oberon

Three-Floyds Gumball Head and Alpha King

Maui Brewing Co. CoCoNut Porter

Dogfish Head ImmortAle and India Brown Ale

Also Duvel.

And this past winter, I've really, really enjoyed Affligem Noel. I also had an amazing Sam Adams (I know, I know) Double Pumpkin Ale (this isn't the Harvest Pumpkin Ale) on tap at our local pub, and I have to say it was the best pumpkin ale I've ever had. Too bad it wasn't available in bottles.

+1

Scuplin is one of the finest IPA's money can buy. Living in San Diego, I am proud to be in craft beer mecca. I can't throw a rock without hitting a great bar with a ton of microbrews.

When you can go to your local 7-11 and pick up a 6 of stone IPA, you know you are in good hands.

I'm a HUGE craft beer fan and have been quite active in my local craft beer scene (volunteering at events, writing articles for websites, even being used as a sounding board for a brewery that started up a few months ago) and can safely say that craft beer is a passion I have even over golf.

It's hard for me to pick favorites as they change all the time but if anyone ever needs a suggestion about something to try, just shoot me a BM! I love chatting about beer, or golf, or both!

Cheers! drinks.gif

Anything from Russian River Brewing.

I want to try Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger in the worst way. They don't sell it in Michigan though. I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Don't know if Michigan is a ship to state, if so then check out SouthBayDrugs.com. I have bought a lot of beer from Joey, he is a great guy. Sign up for his newsletter so you know when stuff comes in, Russian River stuff goes quick so be prepared.
