Cameron American Classic III - Heavy Flange

I'm thinking about picking up a Cameron American Classic III - Heavy Flange (33"  350g) and just wanted to know if anyone had any comments before I decide to purchase.

I believe its an offset bullseye. Easy to line up and fairly forgiving.

I just picked one up the other day. This is an amazing putter with great feel. The leather grip is tacky, but soft. The lines are simple and do not distract. I highly recommend buying one.

Ha, I just noticed that earlier today. Thanks for the follow up.

I went to my local shop today, but all they had was a 35"...granted, it felt great, but I'm in the market for a 33". Still trying to find one online cause I really don't want to pay $250 when I've seen them go for $100 less.

I've been using a Bullseye Heavy flange for over a year now. It's hands down the best putter I've ever used (and I tried dozens). The simple lines don't clutter your mind. Easy to line up and the feel is superb. You will enjoy it for sure!

I have an American Classic Heavy Flange that should be arriving tomorrow. I got it from Edwin Watts. Even though it is listed as backordered on their webpage, I emailed them and they have it because they have 60 retail locations. It is in their warehouse where they don't have it. I got it from them for $145 because it sells for $170 in their website and I told them to match the 15% off labor day sale of Golfsmith and TGW.com. I can't wait to get it and will post reviews and impressions as soon as it arrives.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the SC AC Heavy? For $129 at Discount Dan's, that's a little hard to pass up. I've been using a blade style putter for a couple of years (Odyssey White Hot #8). Switched to a Zing 2 last October, but I really like the looks of the SC AC Heavy Flange. Anyone else using one as their gamer?

Picked one up yesterday on the Bay.....hopefully it will be here by the end of the week. I can't wait. This will be my first SC. Still in the market for a fixer upper too.

I've had my AC III (blade) for 4 months now. I can definitely vouch for the great feel on these putters. Question, I'd like to shorten the length on my putter. But, since this is a Scotty --would it's value, etc. decline? Are there places where I send or local places that can do the custom work? I'm in Southern California, San Fernando Valley.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

take the grip off, cut the shaft, reinstall grip. If you are going to sell it, take the grip off, add an extension piece, regrip.

Keep in mind, depending on how much you plan on cutting off, the swingweight will be lighter.

^^Didn't think about the swingweight, I'm looking to take off at least 1.5 inches. Can I take it to a shop and have them do it and adjust it for me? I wasn't sure if local shops would do this to a Scotty.

I recently saw a Classic III Flange Heavy in a local shop and putted with it in the store and was amazed how easy it was to get the ball in the hole with this putter.It looks so "ole timey" that I would never thought I would put one in my bag but it surely was a point and shoot putter for me.

I'm wondering if the lack all sorts of alingment lines to fret over allows you to just go ahead and stroke the ball.

I'm suprised you don't see alot more of these putters out on the course.

Found this old thread. I’m thinking about bringing my heavy flange out of storage and putting it back in the bag. Hopefully it puts as well as I remember.

I chose not to buy one I saw years ago as the owner was asking too much for it and it was like 5/10 condition. I do have a 35” whose head is lighter than the heavy flange. At the end, I worked with Kari Lajosi who provided me with two wonderful flatsticks that perform amazingly well.
