2012 PGA: SuperStroke Putters by Bruce Sizemore

We stopped by the SuperStroke putter booth early Thursday to check out what Bruce and the guys were up to. Bruce does some amazing work, and honestly the pictures do not do them justice. The amount of precious metals and sophisticated techniques used in some of the non-production models are amazing. Enjoy the pics. (The Wooden Rack of putter heads had more than $40,000 worth of precious metals in it!)

Not a blade guy. I love the different looking putter and not the "Classic". These are buy far the coolest putters ive ever seen and I have never said that before. Love em.

The production line has little bling, but some solid, interesting finishes. The 'bling' is mostly reserved for Asia. They snap them up!

Crazy amount of money in those putters.

Bruce left Bruce Sizemore Putters (yes, confusing) I believe a few years ago and partnered with SuperStoke. He's a long time putter maker and apparently the partnership made sense.

I love the face-milling, but the actual putter shapes are odd to me. They look ilke futuristic transformer putters. Although, it makes sense that somebody needs to create some new putter shapes. I'm not a fan of the gold, blinged out putters though. Everything's going a little too "Ed Hardy" these days, if you know what I mean.

Just looked at the superstoke website. There are the Bruce Sizemore custom putters on there, but it doesn't look like any of the precious metal models are available. From what I saw they come in three finishes-----Tuxedo black, champagne bronze, and Sterling. Looks like they cost somewhere around $439-$550. They are definitely not the ones that were at the PGA show, but they are very cool.

What two metals is the Damascas putter made from???

i had no idea Super Stroke rolled like this! Checking out their custom shop asap.

i am pretty new to this site and all it has to offer. and been into golfing onyl couple years....

do people actually use these beautiful putters? they are works of art.....i cant imagine seeing one out on the course...
the prices.. insane.. id love to see one being made.. and more and more info on the subject..

(this is not only about the superstroke putters, those fancy scottys i saw in other thread as well )

I saw them at the show and was thinking about bringing some in to my shop but pulled a 180 when I heard what they retail at. Good looking putter though.

Those are not Damascus, which is done using carbon steel. Some utilize an ancient process called mokeme game, which uses precious metals. Some of the there inserts were done in a non-ferrous metal process, which uses layering of metals, forging, folding and more forging. Bruce is sending me a more detailed explanation. He mentioned that in some pieces, there are over 70 layers in 1/4"!
