2012 Scratch Golf from the PGA Merchandise Show

This is Scratch losing their minds--- in a good way. I love Ari the owner of Scratch and he is more than like us. Gearhead to the core. He made a personal set of irons that are Don While grinds that he sent the England where they did some crazy itching, engraving, and silver fill treatment like they do for shotguns. Ari also stamped the names in all the iron heads a different name after old historical terms for that type of loft at the turn of the century. Freaking off the hook. Could be the best looking piece of jewelry I have ever seen. He is going to game them to. I love that. No iron headcovers here.

Scratch is like the angelina of the iron world.

If Scratch ever start making leftie blades my name will be 1st on the list.

Those etched clubs belong on a wall not in a bag.

ARI- what finish is on those AR-1's? They look like a matte black or is it a deep antique finish.

Some great stuff there - Don White is an artist. Some of the other decisions, I don't know - enough with the tacky over-stamping, please.

Been playing golf for 30 years, been a cheapskate for 40, I think if I ever actually invested in my hobby, scratch irons would be where I finally man up......

This thread is 16 posts (now 17 posts) too long - your comment just about sums it up perfectly. Lovely irons and wedges, TO SAY THE VERY LEAST.

I picked up a set of Tour Satin 1018 Scratch wedges this month, for a song. Tour issue S400, made by Jeff McCoy for a tour player, currently playing at Torrey Pines...if there are wedges out there that are softer than these..I have not hit them. Everyone that I know that comes into my GG and I have them in there, hits them and WANTS THEM! Played with them in 40* temps for the first time, and NATURAL is the only way I can describe how they feel and fit into my bag. Look amazing...feel amazing...ARE amazing...geez did I gush enough!!

Those AR-1s are a matte black oxide finish.

It was great to see all the WRX guys at the show. This site is as good as it gets when it comes to this kind of coverage and I look forward to seeing all the pics posted over the next few days. The show was so busy this year I barely got a minute to step away from the booth and see all the other cool stuff there.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words on my etched irons. There will be more information posted about these irons later but most of it is relayed in the video above. I could not be more excited to hit and play these clubs. The engraving is just amazing looking in person and the whole package turned out better than I ever expected. The engraving as well as the silver inlay in the stampings was done for me by the master craftsmen at James Ingles Putters in London who is associated with the Charles Hellis and Sons Shotgun Company. James is friend of mine and great guy and I really appreciate all his help making these irons a reality. We will be offering this type of work an option on all of our clubs for anyone that is interested.
