New TM MB's...coming?

I heard thru a friend who is close to the TM R&D, that TM is close to having a new MB iron, largely based on the 05 Tp's(although I think these play about a close to a MB as I would ever want)- in fact it is supposed to have the same top line, sole and face, just without the cavity. This was largely based on Goosen refusal to play the TP's- so goes the 'rumor'. This is all I know, when and where, who, and how would only be speculation....

Personally- how could they improve on the non-current MB's they made last year is beyond me... I think those are one of the top irons ever made.. but that is just my 2cents.. Josh

there are no new muscle backs that Taylor Made is coming out with at this time, this is straight from 2 of my tour reps at Taylor Made. i had been using the TP2's ever since i inked my deal with TM but only have to play their woods because i was looking for a classic blade iron, i found that & Scratch has agreed to sponsor me this season. IF Taylor Made was going to come out with a new blade like the mb i would have kept the whole bag TM but the best they could offer me was a set of black RAC mb's which i took, but don't like. just got my Scratch custom blades in & they are the purest set of irons i have ever seen. Ari can do anything you want to irons & wedges.

Are those the same Reps that said the R5TP will not come out? Its best to check with the factories or the Tour. The reps dont want you to know to much. For example TM people mentioned that the suprise of the R7 FW's, Monza Corsa, Dual Rescue and R5TP was spoiled by a few websites... hmm I wonder who they are?

The man to ask would be Herbert Hainer (Adidas-Salomon's chairman and chief executive ) I remember in 04 he was the person speaking heavily about R&D and the very rare proto's of the R7 Quad, I think he would know if someone could reach him.

Chris, I have heard this from buddies James Driscoll & Sean O'Hair, not to mention wouldn't Sergio be hitting proto's of TM blades! I knew about the Rescue dual & R7 FW, the only one I got bad info on was the R5 TP which my rep quickly cleared up, as with the pics I posted on your website. I'll get an email out to my TM contacts as well as tour contacts & post their replies.

got off the phone last night with my TM tour reps, the word is theres nothing right now, there are some R & D in the works, it would be late August before we'd see any proto's on tour & if they did come out it would be the summer of 2006

I don't mean to be rude Hommie, But didn't I tell you the reps don't tell you everything.

Think about this logically now, they have the new driver x3, FWx2, 4 sets of CB's new rescue, new putters among other things... Whats missing from the line up is the blades.

To think they have not done any R&D or even began to on a new set of blades is just silly.

The Tour Reps may have a lot of Tour Info but IMO they are not even close to the best club makers or have much info on the origins of where their product exactly comes from. They are told what they can and cant mention and when. most often they were put on a crash course of club making. The goal for them in many cases is to build the club quick so the pro can play it without waiting to long.

There is no reason why TM wouldn't be working on a new set of blades...none. especially when most R&D takes over a year before retail production. Its probobly not coming any time soon but, im sure they are working on somthing.

Anyway I dont know Fart about Tour stuff so I better stay out of this one...
