Tiger Specs Screenshot?

Recommended Posts

Did anyone take a screenshot of the Tiger Woods specs that was on here a couple of days ago? I didn't get much of a chance to look at it. If this is a big deal, close the topic. If not someone can PM me a link or I can give you an e-mail to send it to. I'm not trying to cause problems, I'm just interested in them. Thanks,

Lamest thing ever post got deleted. I mean it's golf club specs not nuclear missle codes. WEAK! I saved it though.

can anyone please enlighten me as to why Tigers specs are such a highly regarded "National Security" issue, and how, what why and because of whom, would there be an issue with posting them here? I was under the impression that this website was "Member Published" and not OEM Censored? Why would the request not to publish the pic be issued by GolfWRX Marshalls.... Does this not concern anyone else? This certainly changes how I look at reviews and other information that does get posted in the future.... Anyone else?

I'd imagine its because the information was obtained illegally in the first place. If someone stole the spreadsheet and posted it online, any website redistributing that information is at fault. Obviously its ridiculous to think it matters that much, but stealing a spreadsheet from someone and posting it online is without a doubt, illegal. And a largely commuted site that is partnered with Golf Digest like this one, is smart to let someone else put it out there and avoid the situation.

don't know. his specs are really not that interesting and i think a lot of people could almost guess them. like many pros, they are a lot more standard then you'd think.

His iron specs have been the same for almost 15 years. The only thing that has changed is his driver setup, now that he is using a Di6 instead of the whiteboard. When he had his 681 setup, as you can find in the WITB forum, he played off a 50* pw, to a 21* 2 iron. Now the irons are 1 degree stronger. It's all basic stuff, not too exciting. The only reason it's so exciting is his clubs had the Wizard of OZ effect on everyone, but now that the curtain is back, it is what it always was lol.

How did you get that from this?!
The OP requested that we delete the thread, and we of course obliged as we don't want any of our members to get in trouble. Please don't post the pic, thanks!
There's no need for all of the conspiracy theories. Nike Golf didn't ask us to take it down, the guy who originally posted the picture did - as I stated in my first post. I have no idea how he got the picture, and we didn't ask, but when he asks us to delete it because he doesn't want his source to get in trouble, we will of course take it down.

Yes, we'll almost always honor the requests of our members to close their topics or remove pics . In this case, the guy who posted the screenshot removed it himself when he realized he was able to do so.

But seeing that the screenshot was up long enough for a number of people around the interspace to download/save/post it, it's fully in the public domain.

Of course everyone's swing is different, but if you can experiment with lower lie angles and heavier swingweights (or heads), I think many would be be pleasantly surprised.

Long before this screenshot went up, I decided to go flatter lie and heavier SW in my irons (and seeing this now just made me wanna chime in that my RXF irons have nearly identical lie angles and SW).

It's a pretty different feel, and swing for that matter, playing flatter heavier clubs. Some people dislike it. I've found it to be my preference.

Anyway, pretty cool this is public domain. And glad it was put back up. I wasn't the only one who saved it before it was originally taken down, was I? :stinker:

I don't think Tiger should feel anything one way or another about it being public though. I have the same specs, and that's instantly and effortlessly made me a scratch golfer. :D

I know it was mentioned in the original thread but any definitive indication these are TW's specs? Set makeup sure looks like his but his name is no where on the sheet.

Actually, I remember his lie angles being far more upright in the past (~64 degree 5 iron). Anyone else remember same?

He cranks his driver way open. I never knew that. Looks like 11.25* loft but 3.5* open (2 and 3/2 according to spreadsheet), so effective loft around 9 or so

steeper attack angle would mean he should need more upright lies....I think he is swing more around to the left and less DTL, shallower/flatter shaft at impact equals flatter irons. It was pretty well known his old set up was 1* upright, these are one to two degrees flat....something has for sure changed.

New lie angles might be due to the swing change. His attacking angle is so much more steep now compared to what it was.

I agree. Both that golf is great and beer is also and that Tiger is much flatter and bent over than he used to be. Even with his irons flatter they still seem to set up with the toe up in the air. On a different note, why say 2 3/2 degrees open instead of 3.5* open?? Like saying someone is 6 foot 13 inches instead of 7 foot 2". I didn't like the DI6x tipped half and inch. I guess I should have tried more tipping as it seems to be working for Tiger(1.5").
