Brilliant idea, but do you limit to the Hooters Tour or include all the other mini-tours as well?

I guess Hooters only as that is widely considered to be the #3 tour as in 4 day competitions (I don't think anyone else does 4 dayers), pretty much best money payouts, etc. I am not aware of any other 4 day event mini-tours out there. The Canadian tour does 4 days but is under the R&A of Canada and is not U.S.

The Hooters is way over rated and by no means the 3rd tour. It does not pay out any better than other 4 day minis and the purse is top loaded. Not to mention the ridiculous entry fees. With all the travel they require, you have to finish top 15 just to break even every week.

Many of the best mini tour players have moved on to other tours.

What other tours have they gone to? Reason I am asking is I have a couple friends that are on the Hooters and a couple more contemplating going to the minis. I just became aware of the Gateway and another tour that do 4 dayers. I was gonna pass on to them. I keep up with the regular tour and srs. only. Thanks

I also agree that the hooters tour has become somewhat overrated. In my opinion all the above mini tours are all about equal in purse and competitiveness. I think a lot of mini tour players play the tours closest to where they live. It is impractical to believe that you can make a living playing the mini tours. The mini tours are there as a stepping stone for players who wish to sharpen there games and get use to playing in competitive situations. The mini tours are great for evaluating your overall game ( mental , physical and fundamental) before you decide to go to tour school. Basically it would be unfair to give any excemptions from the hooters onto the Nationwide tour.

Also the AG Spanos tour in California is quickly becoming a hot bed for mini tour players in california. The owner of the San Diego Charger Alex Spanos is the title sponsor of this new tour which will be starting it's 3rd year in Jan, 2006. The pay outs I believe are higher than the Hooters with guaranteed purses of 140,000 next year and 2 championships with 250.000 purses (50,000 for 1st). PLayers like Jason Gore played 5 or so events last year .
