Biggest Collapse On The Course

Person Experiences
Well, last Sunday, at my Club (what I think American's call Country Clubs) I had a disaster. The course is a 36/36=Par 72 Course. On the front nine, I had 36 :cheesy: BUT...

On the back I went:

Double Bogey
Bogey
Par
Bogey
Bogey
Par
Double Bogey
Par Bogey
=44 (8 over par)

Coincidentally, my handiacap is 8 :clapping: but I must admit that it was very windy and the course was playing 2 shots harder than average. I ended getting runner-up on countback for Division A.

Ok guys (and girls) lets hear yours.

i was going pretty good through this one course in Walnut Creek for this one tournament, and i was +2 through 12 holes, and holes 10-12 i had 3 great up and downs, and 13-18 i went, bogey, bogey, bogey double, bogey, bogey, triplebogey , bogey

so i finished +10 the last six holes!! that is my worst blow up and i finished at 84

Everytime I go out it's the Biggest Collapse on the Course. My Front Nine normally looks something like this:

PAR

PAR (wow, 2 Par's in a row, I must be improving! Someone Give me a beer so I can Celebrate!)

Double Bogey

Double Bogey

Bogey

Double Bogey

Bogey

Double Bogey

Bogey

Now it's time for a small break between before I start the back nine, time to clear my head and forget about the front nine.

PAR (Ah.. that's all I needed, just to step away for a sec)

Double Bogey (CRAP!)

Bogey

Bogey

Double Bogey

Double Bogey

I just stopped counting on this one

Bogey

Birdie or Par (I always seem to end on a high note)

Yet, I'm always back there the following Weekend to torture myself for another 4-5 hours, arrrr....

Thanks,

oh man do i remember these days... lately, i start off w/a bogey after running from the car to the tee and am usually even to + a few, and then, just when you think you've found your groove, a snowman drops on my a** out of nowhere like that golf pride ad... poor john daly - he has to do that for a living...

Probably not my biggest, but my most recent and most frustrating.

I played Cog Hill in Chicago last weekend. Not #4 DubsDread but the smaller #2 course. Pretty open and fairly easy @ approx. 6400 yrds. and 69.8/120.

I shot -1 on the front with 3 birdies and two bogeys (both on Par 3's)

then shot +1 on the back 1 birdie and two bogeys ( both on short par 4's)

I should have shot 68 or 69, but shat on myself on some easy holes.

1 over standing on 15. Hit it in the bunker on 15, 16 and 18 and thinned them all! Took double every time. Birdied 17 to shoot 8 over 77 which could have easily been 70 or 69. That felt awful!

For me it was in a NCGA tourney no less...

Hole 1 par 4 score 9

Hole 2 par 5 score 12 (one of those tincup moments)

so I'm 12 over for the first 2 holes...and I shot 86 at the end of the day. So it was only a 2 hole collapse, but still the worst I have had.

I've had several high 30's front sides coupled to high 40's to low 50's on the back.

The worst being tied with my buddy at the turn, who was a good 10 strokes better at the time, and talking trash about outdriving him on the last few holes and stealing the box (honors) . . . I limped home with a 48 on the back to go with the 38 while he finished with a backside 42.

Poop.

Junior year of college at the Public Links Qualifier, worst (at least most frustrating) collapse ever. Shot +1 71 on first 18 and then a smooth -2 33 on the front nine of 2nd round. Playing very well despite wet conditions, but finish with a crowd pleasing 44 (+7) :clapping: on the final nine holes to miss the cut and the alternates. Found out that a back nine 39 (+4) would've qualified :cheesy:

Several years ago in the state am

cruising along bogey free round and standing on the 15 tee (par 5) I'm 6 under for the day. I'm playing with a couple younger guys and one of them is a Dr's Kid (insert RICH) and his posse shows up. One of the girls is wearing a short Polo dress (knit) and she's riding in a cart. I look over and she's sitting there with her snatch showing :cheesy:

So I proceed to go Bogey, Double, Bogey, Bogey just sneaking it under par. :clapping:

But you know. I wouldn't trade it for the world.......She was unbelieveable.....

PS: I won anyway (put the blinders on after that)

i finished with 86 and of my 13 handicap i finished 1 over for the day and stumbled on another chance to get my handicap closer to single figures.

The big collapse:

-5 on the thirteen tee

even on the fourteenth tee

finish was even with 2 more birdies and a double. Great skin day and my partner did manage to play those two holes I cashed. Makes for a great story, but I suck :clapping:

This was both my biggest colapse and then comeback......... I was in a local tournament and I started as such:

Bogey, Bogey, Triple, Birdie, Par, Bogey, Par, Bogey, Birdie=41

Then, feeling the pressure, refocused and back nine shot a 32(My best score on nine holes this year) to shoot a 73 and win by one. Horrible 41, that'll tell you what lack of focus will do!

I can top anyone. When I first started playing competitive golf, I was underage for the lowest age group in the city championships; however, the pro let me play for 2 years prior to getting into the 2 year age group that was lowest. I believe it was 10-11. When I was 10, I finished solo forth. Since the people who beat me the year before moved up in age group, I expected to win. The 2nd hole had a small creek in front of the tee. I hit my tee shot in, got flustered and hit a total of 7 balls in the various creeks and took a 22 on the 2nd hole. An 8 on the hole and I finish first, 10 got me third.

I never won a junior event except the club father/son tourney.

I had a 33 on the front with 3 birdies, an eagle, and 2 bogies. Followed it up with a 44 for a crowd pleasing 77!?!
