Great list, I should try to site down one day and do the same day. I have only been playing 6 years minus 1.5 years due to Uncle Sam. I would say easy 70+ courses. I will not have as many big names as you though. Maybe as time goes along I will have some big name courses on my list.

I've been rather fortunate. I've also moved several times, opening up a whole new set of courses each time. And I have In-laws in Idaho and Alaska. I also have nothing against playing 2, 3 or 4 courses in a day...and if I can find 5 in close enough proximity, for the right price, I'll probably try to play all those in a day as well. image/shok.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shok:' />

All that said, I have a friend who just played his 1,000th different golf course...he makes me feel inferior. image/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

posted to a similar thread, but have 600 logo golf balls from courses played. 45 on the current top 100 list.

Had them on display in my office and closed my business June a year ago.

My wife will have NOTHING of me putting them anywhere in the house, so now my most prized possesion is in a large luggage bag in the garage.

I'll only post the ones of relevance for me:

    Augusta National

    Pinehurst #2

    Kiawah Ocean Course

    Whistling Straits

    Blackwolf Run

    Erin Hills

    Torrey Pines

    Bandon/Pacific Dunes

    Wolf Creek

    Shadow Creek

    Mid Ocean Club

    Tucker's Point

    Trump International Golf Links

    Royal Aberdeen

    Teeth of the Dog

Adding Pelican Hill to the list next week.

    Want to add:

    Sawgrass

    Doral

    Old MacDonald

    Harding Park

    Spyglass

    Cypress Point

Sometime soon maybe...the funny thing is that I've played all of those for work so I haven't gotten to enjoy them with friends like I've wanted to other than Blackwolf/Whistling Straits.

That a small but mighty list!
  • I've played about 200 different courses over the years and I don't even play around much. I've had a membership of some kind since 1995, and most golf is played at the home track. I guess I still get around a little...LOL

Some nice lists there guys. I have been working on the top 100 list since 1976. I how have 107 top 100's played - 85 are on the present list. I have all the top 35 done (got to Augusta last year). I can't talk the wife into a vacation in Michigan so I can play the top 100's there. She is a beach person and 56* water from the lakes isn't cutting it with her. There season is too short. Need to get to Hawaii to get that list done, maybe next year.

1 Augusta - just a very special place

    In no special order

    Pine Valley

    Sand Hills

    Spyglass

    Cypress Point

Pinehurst #2 is only course I wonder how it is a top anything. History, yes. Course no. Anytime you are in the middle of the fairway an the caddy tells you to miss the green left or right if you want to make a par, how good is that. The caddy was correct by the way. This happened 3 times in one round and in every round I have played there it happens a least once. They say the more you play it the more you will appreciate the course - NOT. After 8 rounds it is not on my list. By the way all scores there were in the upper 70's so it did not lunch me.

When I was in high school my Dad and I were having a discussion, and he wondered how many courses he had played. I was bored so I started a journal that day recording every new course I played. We started it by writing down everything up to that point. Seeing how I was 15-16 yrs old, my Dad was part of most of those. Now almost 20 years later I have a list of over 350 courses from all over the US, and a few international. I've lived in 4 states since college so there are some diverse areas in it. I'm definitely glad I started it years ago.
