Kansas City Golfers - ENTER -

I only see a Lawrence thread and thought I'd start a Kansas City thread.

I live in Overland Park. Mainly play Overland Park or St Andrews.

I live right across from OP. Use that range all the time. Still have yet to play it.

I live up north and mostly play Tiffany Greens. I became a Club Member so I also play Dubs Dread, Winterstone, and Prairie Highlands. I have played Heartland (formerly Hillcrest) a couple times but it was in bad shape last time out so I won't be going back there anytime soon.

chalk up another one in OP. i play out at brookridge primarily.

Live in Leavenworth County. Mostly play Alvamar (Public) and Dub's Dred. Need to play Falcon Lakes soon. Hopefully will get a membership to one of the area courses soon.

I am in Stilwell, office in Overland Park. I mostly play Ironhorse, Deer Creek, Sycamore ridge and Prairie Highlands. I want to look into Brookridge though, how do you like it tnord?

well, i will be renewing my membership for a 3rd year, so i like it pretty well.

it is a different course than any of the four you're used to playing. i've only been on PH once, but i'd say it's easier than any of those four as well. that's not to say it's without challenges though. it's just under 6800 from the blacks, but actually plays longer because you're laying up in front of indian creek multiple times throughout the round. only one of the par 5s is reasonably reachable in two, and there's actually one par 4 where you're likely to have 210 or more for your second. many of the holes are also played best with a specific shot shape, and if you don't get it right you're playing from the trees. for the most part however even if you do blast it into the trees the ball is findable and playable so you'll at least have an opportunity to recover. it's a good balance between being challenging for better players but still playable for the average/casual/family/etc golfers as well....which helps keep the pace up.

I'm up in the Northland near Liberty. Member at Shoal Creek this year again. Also love playing Stone Canyon and Falcon Lakes. Prairie Highlands is right up there to, just a little bit of a drive for me.

major update to the south KC private membership landscape;

the owners of Brookridge have also acquired Leawood South. how the details will work out is still unknown, but members of Brookridge will have access to play LS and vice versa. pretty big benefit if you ask me.
