That is what I am looking for man. Thanks.

LONG. That is all I want to know.

Feel matters not. Less spin is preferred, long and straight drives is the only goal.

Ignore all other aspects of ball design that we care about. Crappy feel is fine. Putt like a rock is fine.

What is the LONGEST ball?

Out of all the balls I've tried, I'd say the Callaway HX-Hot. Hit some nasty long drives with one but wouldn't hold a green.
Never tried Pinnnacles, at least not in the past 8 years or so but I reckon they're similar to the Callaway.

For tour level balls, one of the older versions of the Bridgestone B330 went pretty far for me.

Not gonna lie here... The Nike 20Xi X is pretty damn long...

Another one which I tried, but was in cold weather, is the Rocketballz. That thing felt extremely long.

Slazenger Raw distance. Not the new ones these came in an antique looking box. I have never hit anything so dang long.

+1

I hit the longest drive of my LIFE with a box of Raw Distance Feel (blue box) I picked up on clearance. It was a 307y par4 with a nice breeze tailwind and I magically got it all on the sweetspot. I will refrain from posting how long I hit it because we all know WRX posters are full of crap and exaggerate everything {sarcasm} but it was so long my partner wanted to see the box to see if they were legal conforming balls and said it was longest drive he has ever seen in 25 years of playing golf.

Thier is no longest ball if you go by the USGA rules on golf ball.

All "legal:" golf balls have to pass the "initial velocity" and the "overall distance standard".

From most golf manufacture statement that I see, every ball is "at" or "nearly at" the the two USGA standards.

That being said, manufactures are now designing balls for specifice swing characteristcs.

Best thing is go on a launch monitor and find a ball that will give you the best performance according to your current swing.

The best overall numbers for a launch monitor is a 12 to 13 degree launch angle and 2200 to 2400 rpm of backspin.

Finding the ball that will give you those characteristics would give you a good start on finding YOUR longest ball.

Oops, saw your post from April 8, don't understand why you want to stay away from a luanch monitor.

Saw where you want an experiment of sort in the making.

An experiment according to Webster

A test under controlled conditions that is made to demonstrate a known truth, examine the validity of a hypothesis, or determine the efficacy of something previously untried.
Their is not better "controlled conditions" than with a launch monitor. The numbers don't lie.

I would second, third and 4th this. These babies are mega-long. The older ones with the red/black triangle were the longest balls I'd ever hit. They had some that were gold distance "long drive" balls that are right there as well.

This year's offerings? Look at the Callaway Hex Black Tour or Chrome. Those balls are insanely long. My playing partner put the Black into play and he's murdering that thing. I just put the Chrome into play (review posted in the golfball section under "Throwdown") and it was the longest ball I used in my test.

Yeah I was shocked too. :D

The new Titleist Velocity is pretty long. Started using them right after they came out, easily getting 1 more club from all my irons and it absolutely bombs off the driver and it''s super straight.
i tried the velocity's for the 1st time this week. its was only 9 holes, but im buying a dozen more, they jumped off the face and were super long. ive been playing the hx hot for a while now, but the velocity may be replacing that ball.

I agree, today I played 18, front 9 with a Bridgestone 330, back 9 with a Callaway Hex Black Tour. I thought the Hex Black was very long, it seemed much longer than the 330 and REALLY seemed to play well in the wind, especially off the tee, I hit some real bombs with it. BUT, I liked the 330 better overall, chipped and putted better with it. Like all things in golf the difference was probably mostly between my ears!
