Favorite Golf Book?

Just wondering what everyone's favorite golf book is, instructional and non-fiction/biography. It's tough for me to choose just one of each.

I have three instructional books that I really like:

Harvey Penick's Little Red Book

Putting Out of Your Mind by Bob Rotella

Jim McLean's Ultimate Drill Book

For non-fiction/biography I'll go with:

Final Rounds by James Dodson

Every Shot I Take by Davis Love III

A Golfer's Life by Arnold Palmer

I'd go with

The Majors by John Feinstein or The Masters by Curt Sampson.

The Masters can be dry at times, but the history of the tournament and the men behind the curtain makes you think twice about loving it so much.

Haven't found an instructional book that has helped...but I'm always looking!

I havent finished it, but "four iron in the soul" is pretty good so far. its written by the caddy of a journeyman on the european tour.

Ben Hogan An American Life by James Dodson is a very good and complete biography of a very complex man.

The Search for the Perfect Club by Tom Wishon is one every club technophile should have on their shelf.

Who's Your Caddy? and Zen Golf

Gary McCord "A Top-Flight in a box of Titliest" I think that's what it's called he has several. It's the funnest thing I've ever read. The chapter about him trying to qualify for the Open in SoCal is funny as hell. Also, all of John Fiensteins?? books are great. "A good walk spoiled" and "The Majors" are great. Also, "The Greatest game ever played" was really great also, soon to be a movie.

C'mon people - "Dead Solid Perfect" by Dan Jenkins - great book, also, "Fairways and greens" by him as well as "You Gotta Play Hurt" (good amount of golf in that one).

i love "The Greatest Game Ever Played" but I will never see the movie version that looks like the worst sports movie ever made.

Zen Golf and Jack Nicklaus/ Lesson Tee.

This is an easy one. DEAD SOLID PERFECT

Harvey Penick's Little Red Book, Fearless Golf and Zen Golf are on the top of my list.

Greatest Game Ever Played (Mark Frost) and I am almost finished with The Grand Slam also by Mark Frost. Great reads.

The Search for the Perfect Golf Club - Tom Wishon

- Tons of info on shaft selection and performance.

A Swing for Life - Nick Faldo

- Great selection of drills and colour sequences, very thorough.

Golf in the Kingdom, Michael Murphy (I think I'll start reading it again tonight!)

Golf My Way, Jack Nicklaus

"Dead Solid Perfect" by dan jenkins

"Somewhere in Ireland a Village is Missing An Idiot" by david feherty

"Greatest Game Ever Played" by mark frost

I'll throw in another vote for Golf In The Kingdom, and for instruction, of course, The Golfing Machine - Homer Kelly.

A good one for sentimental purposes: Playing Partners. It is about a son and his dad being best friends and playing partners. I have considered writing a book similar to this from the perspective of a son.

"Thirty Years of Championship Golf: The Life and Times of Gene Sarazen" by Gene Sarazen and Herbert Warren Wind. I read it as a kid in the late 70's. Sarazen autographed it for my Grand Aunt, plus we are born on the same day.
