I'll have to go with Furyk and Allen Doyle (he's the Champions Tour Adams Golf staffer, right? weird half swing with a full body release?).

I picked those two because- well, their swings are funky/ugly/weird/crazy looking/awkward/etc, BUT the results are pretty spanking good. It just reminds me that whatever my swing looks like- it's the results that matter!

When my swing is drifting off into the ether- I think about Faldo's swing tempo and Daly and his slow and low (not his try to touch the club head to the ground backswing!).

I've always liked the swings of Freddie and Ernie. Super smooth with a lot of finesse/character.

Another that has not been mentioned yet is Vijay's. Not sure what is is about this swing, but it's [maybe not the correct word] flawless. Everything is so pronounced. I guess that's what you get for practicing 25 hours a day.

Don't forget ..... Jim Thorpe. That helicopter move is sweet to watch.

As far as swings to emulate ...... I like Stuart Appleby's and Luke Donald's swing .... they are tight and compact. Not too much movement and very simple.

Ernie, Goosen, Donald, Tiger and I could go on and on. Tiger because of the power he releases, while still being in perfect balance (on a good swing :clapping: ). Ernie, Goosen and Donald are pretty self explanatory, just beautiful to watch. If I had to pick just one it would be either Goosen or Donald...Ernie's is just a little TOO smooth, I would never be able to swing that way for a whole round.

Hi all!

In both "categories" I have South Africans but believe me it's not because I'm one.

Top 2 swings I'd like to have that are potentially achieveable as I have a similar build:

In order of preference:

1. Luke Donald (Perfect blend of classic and modern swing, I love it, just check his long iron and GIR stats, if you have any doubt about how good this swing is)

2. Retief Goosen (Makes power look so easy)

Top 3 swings I can only dream about as they are too great for meto ever copy:

In order of preference:

1. Tiger Woods (A magician, Exotic, Presence is felt)

2. Ernie Els (Technically perfect, Hits 320yds like his on a "Sunday Drive")

3. Anika Sorenstam (Perfect Plane, Repeats the same swing every time)

I like Tiger Woods' swing for sure for the short game. For the long game I would have to take Ryan Moore. Both guys dont have the most perfect swing, but they get the job done. The use the uniqueness of there swing to the fullest. That is just my thought. Please make comments.

How bout my swing. Hahahaha. There I am hitting in a dome in the middle of winter because I am from North Dakota, and needless to say it isnt very warm here in the winter. I am working on the low punch or if I was Mr. Woods the stinger. Hahaha. Send me some critiques. That would be great.

ELS, COUPLES, GOOSEN, TIGER, THEY ARE ALL FANTASTIC AND I WOULD LIKE MINE TO LOOK LIKE ANY OF THEM. THE BOTTOM LINE IS I DON'T CARE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AS LONG AS IT REPEATS AND GIVES ME CONSISTENT RESULTS. :clapping:

For me I'd say Tiger and Ernie with Ernie's winning by a slim margin. Ernie's swing reminds of Griffey Jr hitting a home run--it's just smooth and silky, but BAM!!

For me it is Apple's swing. There is something that is just pure class about it, especially in the driver.

Els and Goosen!  Must be something in the S. African water!

I have to go with Els too!! but I have been here in South Africa for three months and the water has not helped my swing any at all. May be that I am drinking the wrong bottled water. Maybe it takes time and I don't think I have that much time left here.

I'm with dorfblee...Furyk, Doyle, Thorpe...it shows that no two swings are alike and you can get the job done anyway you have to. If I had to pick one I would pick Doyle though as he doesn't miss a fairway and can draw and fade at will. I played golf with him for a number of years at the little 9 holer American Legion in LaGrange, GA...well, actually lost to him for a number of years :clapping: ...and to see it close up you realize just how repeating his swing is.
