I Find a lot of Pro V1's

Is the reason I find so many Pro V1's in the woods at my local golf course because the ball spins to much for most amateur golfers that are hitting them? I realize that a lot of people play them but, I also hear a lot of people say they are playing Gamer V2's and I never find those balls in the woods at my local golf courses.

No, it's because 10x as many people play one of the ProV1 versions as play as Gamer V2 or Gamer. Hence 10x as many to find.

Don't confuse what's popular in online forums with what's popular at your golf course.

I hate when people "find" mine and pocket it even when it isn't lost!

Truth to the above. Most of us may (read DO) spend way too much on golf. However the small sliver of the population on this forum that discuss to learn and inform themselves before a purchase don't hold a candle to the millions playing Pro Vs because thats what they see on TV, or because thier "scratch buddy" plays that product.

Next time you find a ProV1 on the course, just think to yourself: "Thank you dumma$$ for not playing a Top Flite" !

I agree that most balls I find as well are ProV1s.

I watched a guy come in looking like Mr. Fowler himself buy 2 dozen of them, proceed to go to the first tee box, and hack swing at his first ball and send it dead left into a dense patch of woods, then retee and slice it into the hazard right. Then he hit his thrid one, sliced it again but remained in play and completely drive right past the area his first ball went and not even bother to look for it.

The rest of the day my group was behind him and we would come accross balls he never bothered to look for, all in brand new condition. In all we found about 5 brand new quality ProV1s and my playing partners were extremly happy to use balls they would usually never buy because of their skill level and lack of funds.

Sometimes at my course right before the sun goes down, I squeeze in 6 or 9 holes. You wouldnt believe how many ProV1's I've found that have been abandoned. I don't feel bad about swiping them because I'm the only one on the course or the front nine for that matter. You deffinately find a ton of Pro V1s and a ton of Top Flites. I've found more ProV1's though. Haven't purchased a pack of balls in quite some time. I game all the premium and mid level balls and put the low quality stuff in my shag bag.

I don't think it's really due to the spin rates, it's not like they turn a fade into a slice or a draw into a hook, I bet it's a 5 yard difference due to the ball max.
