TaylorMade R510 TP, Tour, DF

Let's hear it...

I rated it a 4 because there is always room to improve. I'm not a big fan of TM although some of their stuff is solid in the bag (irons)...I've owned many a tour DF in my days and never was happy with them. Recently I got a retail 10.5 TP head and it's MONEY.. Best TM driver I have hit to date...

gives me ballspeeds with low 100 mph swings that I used to have to swing 108-110 to get.

I rated it a 5.

Hell, it is in the hall of fame for gods sake. Hits bombs. one degree lower than normal heads, low spin driver. Need to be able to have some good launch angles and swing speed to activate it's true colors. When I do it is the best.

Dont play it because it isnt 460cc and I have a thing for forgiveness right now.

But it is in the basement waiting.

I went through 20 drivers in 18 months before settling on the 510 TP 10.5 with stock R flex Speeder 757. That was a year ago and I rarely even think about trying another driver. My nomal shot is a slight draw and this club has a perfect trajectory, is long and forgiving. Can't say enough good things about it.

I just changed from a protopype to a speeder 553... holy moly.. the club got even better. I swear the head feels like it's going to fall off...it kicks so hard. Gives me a little more spin then I would normally want..but I'm hitting fairways and it's a much easier game from there...

i use a Ignite 460 now but i think this Driver is for people who has fast head speed who likes to use a Pro V1x. I went to the main Taylormade factory in Carlsbad and they told me that they do all the test drives with a Pro V1x because if it matches with the Pro V1x more people will more likely to use it.

But it goes long if you can really hit it and pure for trajectory control with a Speeder 661 or a Diamana 73.

My is equiped with an Accra SC-75 and it is simply the best driver I have ever owned of tried and i have owned and tried a bunch!

I am bidding on one of these right now on ebay. It has a fujikria 27.3 X shaft. I have been told these are real good control driver but lack the power of some of the newer models. Cany anyone compare the distance of the r510 TP compared to a newer driver.

Sounds good, i have just under 2 hours left on the auction. If it stays at the bid i have now im going to steal this club.

Tour issued Taylor Made R510 Deep Face 9.5* proto (no serial) the original tour issue. Joe Kwok also shafted this with a Fujikura 660tr X-stiff untipped. 1.25" insertion depth. 45" long.

I gave it 5 stars...I have retail 9.5 with a blue...I don't experiment much...last 3 drivers were titleist (975d, 983k, 983e) and the 510tp was by far the better performing club

As far as looks and feel, the best ever. If they could make it look identical at 460 ccs, it would make evey other driver obsolete

The feel is so solid compared to R7 TP n R5 TP respectively.Get the right shaft and see the ball explode off the face every time.5 stars

Went out today and tried a R510 TP 8.5 with X Diamana 73. Amazing. I was hitting it 30+ yards farther than my Ignite 410 with Nano NT X. Club was a little to light but still the kick in that shaft was incredible. I was really impressed.

Was is the typical tip dia. of the r510 DF? .335? or .350?

Got four retail r510 TP’s & one tour issue, two r580XD TP’s, & a r540XD TP all with similar weighted shafts, Fuji’s, Aldila's all pured.

The head weight, feel & impact sound are all significantly different.

The best one is a retail 9.5 r510 TP; it is the most solid thing I have ever hit. It was also the first one I ever bought & expected them all to feel like it, but they don’t.

It must be the manufacturing tolerances on the retails, different hot melt on the tour’s. I cannot see it being the weight cartridges, I changed one from a 5g to 9g no difference in feel, just a heavier swing weight.

Anyone found similar results??

5 stars! I've had my tour r510 tp for 6 months now and the only thing I can say is wow! My club is shafted with a Diamana Blue and the ball flight is med high that doesn't balloon. I want to try a r7 tour, but I just can't pull the trigger because the r510 is just that good.

One of the best drivers I've hit. I used a retail 9.5* for the past three seasons before going on Callaway staff this year. It blows the r7 TP out of the water! I have tried a tour issue head, but found my retail one to be just as good if not better. Perfect blend with the Fujikura 757 and many high-end shafts. A classic driver head that set the benchmark for all to follow...

Best driver I've ever played...I'm usually a titleist fan but this sits squarer and is sooooo solid...

I agree. the 510 TP reminds me of a Persimmon driver in that it sounds very solid and not at all metallic. A very solid club to say the least! Simp

Played a 9.5 with speeder stiff.

Awesome club. I hit some of the longest drives of my life with it. Eventually I switched to a bigger headed driver for more forgiveness but I can honestly say that the big drives weren't as big as with the 510tp.

I have a retail R510 TP 9.5° retail with the stock Fuji 757.

Best driver ever made, period.

Let me start by saying that I love :) to buy the latest and "greatest" drivers on the market. Case in point, the r7 425 TP in my bag. I was happy with the 425 TP and think it is a better and longer driver than my r7 TPs were. As for the R510 TP, I kept seeing a nice used 8.5* with a tour spec Fuji 757 at the place I usually shop for clubs. It kept calling my name :ok: so I had to buy it and go "old school". All I can say is WOW! :bb: This thing is a cannon! Let's just say that my 425 TP and tour issue r7 will be for sale, since I won't be needing their services anymore. :) Maybe I got lucky, but it is that good. Darn, now I have to change my signature again!

My 510(not TP) tour with the R540xd 55gm Fuji shaft is a great combo...and has the best / most solid sounding 'click' this side of persimmon!

Well I just got a 9.5 510TP with a Fujikura Vista Tour X and after reading this thread I can't wait to get to the range and try it! How do you know if its a TP or not? Is it the little logo on the toe of the club?

Three R510 TPs with different shafts depending on conditions and how my back feels. There is also a R540XDTP and a R7 tp both tour in the rotation. When playing for money its always a 510 TP. Best heads i've ever hit. What a great sound.

I've tried every driver out there .... and always going to back to 510 TP. Best driver ..... period.

So far so good. I've got 3 rounds on my 510TP 9.5* and absolutely love it. I have never been so consistent driving the ball. Everyone is a sweet little 5yd fade and is extremely reliable. The head has a great feel to it and sits dead square. It's my new favorite club :rolleyes:.
