26th Annual Mike Steele Memorial Golf Tournament

A few more weeks to enter a great tourny!

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to reiterate to what my brother had state. This is the 26th year going for the tournament. To give you guys a background on how everything started, our uncle Mike Steele was a well above average golfer as he had at one time 2 course records, letter winner all 4 years at Purdue University, and had missed the cut for the US Open twice by less than 2 strokes.

He not only was an amazing golfer, but from what I'm told (I'm 27, and was 1 when he passed) was an even better person. He passed away in 1986 from Leukemia. Each year our family had raised money through an Ad book that 100% of the donation went to one individual who wanted to further pursue their college education through a Scholarship fund, but might not have been able to otherwise. To date I believe we have raised over $150,000 over the 26 years for the tournament. This year we are going to donate not to one individual, but to a local Breast Cancer Awareness Charity.

Just a little background, and now to the golfing part....As my brother stated, we have 4 flights, and have about $5,000 in prize money/certificates that we hand out. On top of that we also have 50/50 tickets which winner usually takes around $400-$1000 depending on amount of tickets sold. Skins game that brings in around $1000 in prize money, and closest to the holes. A local car dealership [url="http://www.isringhausen.com/"]http://www.isringhausen.com/[/url] that specifically deals BMW, Porsche, Mercedez is sponsoring one of the closest to the holes. Whoever wins, will be able to take a car off their lot (they choose unfortunately) and take it for a WEEKEND....So if any of you want to know what it's like to drive a nice car for weekend, here's your chance....(If it's a Porsche, I just ask that if you win, you take me around the block!).... There are typically around 120 players in the tournament, it's a very competitive tournament, but there are also players that just want to have fun, which is why we have 4 flights and divide out the money evenly through each flight. This is not an outing, this is Amateur Tournament that has brought people from St. Louis and Chicago.
