Md price Range Golf balls

I'm a junior golfer wanting to add more consistency to my golf game, and I think I can accomplish this by using the same ball. I usually shoot in the low 90's and I am about a 23 handicap, but my game has steadily gotten better recently. When I went to my local golf score my driver SS clocked in at around 75mph with a straight ball flight off of all of my clubs.

In a ball, I am looking for mostly greenside spin and secondly distance. Currently I am looking at buying used balls off of lostgolfballs.com, including the Bridgestone e5 and Srixon Q star. Let me know what balls I should purchase or other balls that you recommend for me.

Brutally honest assessment:

Spinning the ball requires clubhead speed. I don't think any ball is going to help a lot in that department until you get stronger.

So the most important thing is to find the right compression. For example, the e5 is about 100. You probably want to look at balls with an 85 compression or less right now.

If I were you, I'd play the Gamer V2. Good inexpensive low compression ball.

I mostly agree. Clubhead speed is required to spin effectively on a full wedge shot. But if you're really talking "greenside" spin, like 20 yds and in where you want to hop, check and roll out 6 feet instead of hop, no check and run off the back, that's more about technique than strength, and a decent ball can help develop this shot. Low spin balls won't give you enough feedback to know when you've hit it correctly Gamers are good, but if you're looking at LGB, you could consider Z-Star or the original Penta, 3A or 4A would be fine.

what about the older nike pentiums they are fairly soft and because of the clubhead speed shouldnt overspin them, also check out the older ProV1 392's, should get a good deal on those on tne used golfball market

Try the Wilson FG Tour. You can get them cheap through Budgetgolf.com. Balls with cosmetic defects are $14/doz. They are low compression, high spin balls with soft urethane covers.

When I first started out, I always walked the woods looking for lost balls at my course. You will find many different mfg's ball models to experiment with. Make sure it is ok to do so first. I don't think I purchased a ball until I played in college....
