My honeymoon in Kauai this July!

Pukadogs down in Poipou is pretty fun and unique (they do hot dogs or polish sausages in a very unique way). I'd also highly recommend taking a kayak tour up the Wailua river to sacred or secret falls. Lots of great golfing on the island too.

Best place for dinner (be there for sunset) is The Beach House. We ended up there twice cause it was a great experience


Awesome beach - which is pretty secluded and gets a cool visit from some of the endangered Monk seals is (can';t remember the name) but it's down from Princeville and there is a cave to explore there as well

We went there as well in 2002. It's got to be one of the best places on earth. My only advice would be to take a helicopter ride of the island (I believe it was around $100 a person). There is so much of Kauai you cannot see without being in a helicopter. Well worth it.

Golf Poipu Bay is a must.. The snorkel and sea side cliff tour was really nice!

For golf look into princeville and the Lagoons golf course also.

Eat at Bubba Burger in Poipu. Sports bar kalapaki Joes in Poipu. Must play Poipu Bay golf course. There is a costco in Lihue if you need supplies. Have fun

If you'd like to play golf for CHEAP, you must visit Kukuiolono. It's a local 9-holer, and it is $9 for as much golf as you want. Crazy. Nice ocean view, etc. When I was there they charged the same flat rate for a power cart... all day. Stop at a minimart on the way and load up on beer. You won't regret it. Google it.

They Hyatt is really nice if your fiance works for them you might want to stay there. Last time I was there we stayed at the Sheraton just up from the Hyatt - also a great place and a little lower key than the Hyatt.

We were going to, but we're staying at the timeshares @ the St. Regis at Princeville. I have no idea which one is better.. we got the stay as part of our wedding gift from one of my relatives.

My Honeymoon was in Kauai...

Take the helicopter ride around the island. Right around $400 for two people. It was the most incredible thing I've ever done!

The ride starts near Princeville and then flys into the dormant volcano shoot (absolutely the most insane view). Then it flies around Waimea Canyon, Na Pali Coast and back.

It's the best $400 I ever spent by far.

That's also where we went for our honeymoon, I agree the Helicopter tour on Kauai is incredible, much better than any other island. We went out of the main airport, it went around the island and no better way to see the Napili coast, the pilot took us into the canyons. There was a deal called the Kauai challenge, Princeville Prince, Kauai Lagoons and Poipu for $300, great deal and the 3 best courses on the island.

Just got back from my honeymoon there where we stayed at the Grand Hyatt from a couple of nights. I played golf at both Poipu Bay and the Princeville Prince courses. I highly recommend both courses as they are pretty different types of courses. The Prince was more memorable but Poipu was more fun to play and the last few holes have great views of the ocean. If you are going to play the Prince make sure to have lunch there as well at the Lodge. The views are awesome and the food was very good and reasonably priced.

I also highly recommend the helicopter ride as well which was amazing and the best way to see the island. We did Safari (~$130/pp) which was very good but also look into Blue Hawaiian. Regarding dinner we also ate at The Beach House and while the sunset views were great the food was only so-so. The best place we ate at was Tidepools at the Grand Hyatt which was chill and the food was fantastic. If you are looking to do a luau, we did the Smiths Family which was pretty good and generally considered the best on the island.

The Grand Hyatt resort was awesome and by far the nicest place I have ever stayed but if I were to visit Kauai again I think I would rather stay in the Princeville area which was amazing. We also stayed a few nights in Maui and it's toss up on which island we liked better. The only (very small) negative I have of Kauai are the freaking rosters crowing all hours of the day. The island is amazing so have a great time.
