Release date for the Exotics Driver is now on or around Nov. 15th. Very limited allocation initially. The technology involved in the design of the head doesn't allow for normal production methods and as of this time we can't produce heads at the rate that other manufacturers can with their conventional designs. We are working with our foundry ( the only one in the world that has the technological capabilities to produce this head ) to implement new manufacturing methods that will enable us to increase the rate of production. Based on initial testing we believe we will be able to ramp up production by Spring of 06.

GolfChicago ( Frank ) and I recently played at his club ( Prestwick C.C. ) . I had an almost final prototype 10.5 with our proprietary Fuji High Launch 55. ( Again, like the fairway wood shafts this is based on the Speeder 652 platform. ) Frank took some pictures of the club while we were warming up on the range. Hopefully they came out so you can see the head fairly well and Frank will post them on this site. He as well as the other members of our group had a chance to hit it on the range and on the course. Obviously I'm biased so I will let Frank post his thoughts regarding the sound, feel and performance of the Driver.

The Exotics Driver and its 460CC head has the highest MOI ( By 20% ) of any 460CC Driver ever produced. For all golfers, but particularly golfers who generate a high rate of club head speed, this allows them to swing at it 100% full bore without worrying about the head waggle at impact that is typical with driver clubheads of that size. ( 460CC ) The sound and feel is also unlike anything else at 460CC's on the market.

Stock Shaft options will be as follows:

Graphite Design YS 5

Fuji High Launch 55

Aldila NV 65

The YS 5 and the NV 65 are proprietary versions designed exclusively for the Exotics Driver. The Fuji High Launch 55 is a completely exclusive proprietary design for Tour Edge Exotics.

Most additional top tier shafts will be available at very reasonable up charges.

Here is some great news for all of you who want access to true "tour head" technology. The following are the real head cast face specs for the Exotics Driver:

8* 2 Degrees Open

9* 1 Degree Open

10.5* Square

12* 1 Degree Closed

Our Exotics website: www.exoticsgolf.com should have pictures and info on the driver posted within the next 2 weeks.

Hope this helps answer some of your questions!

First off, I can't freakin' wait until the driver comes out! I hit the 3w as far as driver....how far will the driver go?

I'm curious to know why Tour Edge offers such light shafts?

Is there a technology/performance issue the Tour Edge engineers figured out?

And what about those of us who prefer something a bit heavier?

In answer to your questions:

If the Exotics Driver does as well as the Fairway Woods there will be a LH Driver. The tooling costs for the Exotic Driver Heads are far and away the most expensive in the industry. Soonest a LH might be available will be Mid Summer 06.

Like any product that a manufacturer brings to retail, it has to appeal to a majority of golfers. Most golfers benefit from a lighter weight graphite shaft as opposed to a heavier one. The head technology in the Exotics Driver is such that we believe even high club speed swingers can experience the tightness and stability they need with the series of proprietary shafts we have developed.

For those of you who prefer and need a heavier weight graphite shaft, our experience is that individual preferences vary so greatly that it would be impossible to inventory as an OEM the range of shafts that would be needed in that category. Work with the shaft expert you use in your area and dial in the shaft with the weight and performance specs you require.

Answers to Questions:

As to getting one of the Limited Allocation Exotic Drivers that will be shipping on or around 11/15 I would suggest going to the Tour Edge Exotics Dealer in your area and putting down a deposit to reserve a driver from his allocation. You can check the dealer locator on our website www.touredge.com and find out who would be the closest Exotics dealer in your area. Our dealer locator shows what Tour Edge product that accoount stocks. If it shows Exotics Fairway Woods, you can be sure he has the Exotics Driver on order.

Our Florida and Arizona reps will be the first ones receiving Exotic Drivers for Demo Days. California will be next. After that the Carolinas, Georgia and other year round warmer climate states. Start looking for them at Demo Days in Florida and Arizona in Dec. and Jan. The rest of the reps probably won't have them till Spring Demo Days.

... isn't there a better connection through this site?

Hope so. Ps to Tour Edge...hope the finish on the drivers is more durable than the FW's...my 15* is nicking up easily, and I hear it is a common complaint. I've never had this problem with other woods.

Guys, the driver is awesome. I've tried to post pics on mulitiple tries. I can't get it done. I'm emailing the pics to JC today to post.

Here is my analysis. I love the look. It looks much smaller than it is. Which is a big plus with the new drivers looking like sledge hammers. It hits high straight bombs. I can't wait to get my hands on one with the right shaft for me. I'll tell you my latest 3 wood success. I was on Olympia, I had 256 uphill into a strong cross wind. I hit it 15 feet. The next hole there is a creek 280 off the tee. I hit three wood...two bounces and its in the drink. Holy cow this thing is a rocket ship!

golfchicago,

we're anxious to see those driver picks :-).

the 3 woods are awesome. just outstanding.

i do agree with carerra ... the black finish is not durable at all and nicks up pretty badly ... have you found this to be the case? ... given the fantastic performance/technology of the club, i'm sure the paint job would be a simple thing to fix.

the other thing that was off (and i've heard this from others) is the head weight. my 3+ was only 207 grams. i had joe bring it up to 216 so i could play it at 42.75". i'm hoping the driver heads will be at least 200 grams, hopefully more.

Mike, I've had no problem with the finish on my 3 wood. So far so good! I'm going to get those pics to Champ this morning.

Hoping to see some driver pics.  Thanks.

I have a feeling we'll all see the pics after 11/15 when someone buys one, if it exists. I mean how tough can this crap be? You have the driver, you snap a pic and you upload it. This isn't rocket science or a damn physics quiz. 3 million people can evacuate the gulf coast but someone can't upload a little picture of a driver head.

It ain't over. When the going gets tough .... the tough get going! Who's with me???? What happened to the Golfwrx I used to know???? Where's the spirit?? Where's the guts, huh?? "Oh, we can't upload the picture cuz we might get in trouble" We just kiss my butt. Not me. I'm not gonna take this.

Now, we could post the pictures using conventional means, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture on somebody's part. And you're just the bunch to do it!

POST THE PIC! POST THE PIC! POST THE PIC!!!!!!

SM695 Just so you know, I did upload the pics, I had a problem adding them in as attachments to wrx. In the future keep your comments professional and not personal.
