Has anyone played these side by side? These are my two "winners" at the moment, but I'm trying to whittle the list down to one.

My driver SS = 90; driver distance with rollout = 230; 9-iron hits flat green, bounces 2 feet forward and then 2 feet back; chips go fizz, fizz, check.

I've played both and think the Z-Stars are superior balls. Have you tried the Z Star SL? They are perfect for those of us with relatively slow swing speeds.

At first I thought that the soft feel that the Z-Star had off of the putter was great, but I had a hard time controlling distance with that ball. Somebody else mentioned the same thing as well, so I know that it's not just me. I'm sticking with the B330-S for now. I wish that they made the B330-S in yellow though.

+1 on the Z-Star SL. Pricey but more superior to the Q-Stars that I used to use. Perfect for slower swing speeds. I range between 90-100.

Out of curiosity, why don't you play the RX series?

I found the RX balls to be a bit mushy. Ditto, btw, the Z-Star SL. I am impressed with the way Bridgestone has softened the feel, at least for me, of their 330 and 330-S balls over previous versions.

I can compare these. I played both extensively last year. They were [along with the 2009 prov1x] the best balls for me. They all went straight off the tee and had enough check around the greens. After playing only the zstar and b330s THIS year, I think I started to see the zstar playing straighter off the tee and the zstar had a little better check on chips.

So I went to the bridgestone fitting to see how I would hit the new versions of the zstar and 330s and what the numbers would be.

The zstar I hit solid and the numbers were good. The 330s I did not hit solid. They were high or low off the face and I never felt I hit it solid at all. Eager to have a good comparison the rep let me hit a couple more. In the end the data showed that I hit the 330s pretty much the same distance as the zstar and I never really hit one 330s great. Needless to say the spin numbers were a lot better on the more solidly hit zstars. This at least gave me confidence that I know the new zstar is still a great ball and with a 2 ball sleeve of the new 330s I can see on the course how well it does.

I played both side by side this season. Winner is the Z-star. Just seems better off the tee, I don't care about distance. It just felt like it went straighter and more consistent. Greenside spin, the Z-star wins hands down. I like how the ball checks up and I've spun the ball back 10-15 ft when I go after it. It's a nice pin hunting ball. The B330s is more of a stick and stop for me.

The proof is in my scoring. The last 3 rounds I played using the Z-star, including today, I have broken 40 - 36, 37, 39 respectively.

I have yet to break 40 with the B330S - scored 40, 41. Even if what I stated above is in my head, hey I'm scoring better with the Z-star!

So to summarize the Z-star has less sidespin, more backspin, and more durable.

I play both of these and I have only noticed a couple of differences: Both are tour quality offerings with the distance, consistency, spin and soft feel that goes with that designation. I have found that for my swing speed (mid 90s), the Z-Star is easier to compress. The Z-star seems to spin a little more on shorter shots. I don't think you can really go wrong with either ball. Good luck!
