DIY - First time with results (pics)

Had a previous thread about reshafting a driver which gave me plenty of help. Thanks to all!

Here are the results on a first timers attempt at refinishing a driver head, paint fill, re shaft.

Cleveland Launcher 460 Head

Aldila RE AX R9 Driver shaft

I'm quite pleased with the results and wanted to thank all who helped me with the shaft work.

What does everyone think?

Thanks. I went with white to stick with crimson and white shaft for my Hoosiers!

I have since.turned down the.ferrule.as well.

I questioned the.white as well, but went with a flat white and then put a clear matte finish over it.

Nice work. Looks good. I did the same thing to an old Titleist 975F of mine. I went with satin clear.

I just used spray paint. Rustoleum.

After I turned down the ferrule I actually painted it white as well, but screwed that one up with impatience. So cleaned it up and left it black for now.

Same paint for the fill? Just taped it off? Or what?

The paint fill is actually just nail polish.

I had read on here and seen on YouTube people doing the polish.

I will say a clear coat top coat is absolutely a must for the flat paints.

I went with the clear because the 30 hours I had without it the flat white picked up every iittle mark or smudge possible.

Next time I will peel tape earlier. I waited an hour after final coat to Peel based on instructions from here.

I cleaned it and wiped down with acetone.

Can polish face with a light metal polish, lIke a mothers, scratch remover type, but will make a mess now leaving black residue on fresh paint....or u can glass bead and get a more satin finish on bare metal, and light scratches won't come back with the texture, unless ur hitting of car path or something;)... Looks good though:)

Haven't really used the driver much since I did the work. Gave it to my brother for him to try and have yet to see it again.

He says it still looks great, but conceded he hasn't used it much.

I would say in my next attempt I will probably take all the paint off rather than just scuffing.

It still looks good, but was wondering if I changed the weight of the head with the added layers of paint. Bro has same driver stock and says it feels heavier which could just be do to shaft differences.

Frog Tape - works great, but there is also blue painters with "no bleed".
