Thread locking

Seems a bit random.. some are allowed to go on for pages with some outrageous posts in them, others are locked for what appears to be no real reason within a few posts

Alot of threads created are replicas of existing threads too, and they are closed.

some threads get locked because the mods have seen similar threads basically become an embarrassment. People are very passionate about certain subjects and sometimes the way the first post is phrased leave no chance of it being civil, and in that case it's better to lock it.

Some threads are obviously designed to incite and those often get locked too. Many times that particular OP will complain but has to be a moron to not know exactly what he was doing and why it's locked.

I understand people's frustrations at some threads being locked though. For example anything involving someone in the industry who is not a sponsor is usually doomed. The line between "advertising yourself" and just answering questions is a tough one.

Sometimes it is also just a case of there not being many mods on duty, or the ones that are on duty are being lazy and not at their computer. Most threads are locked because of complaints and it just depends when those complaints are read

no sex for mods equals more thread closures... its simple.

in all honestly... its content, duplicate threads etc. No point on wasting bandwidth, thats why we have thrillhouse j/k
