Firearm Specialist: AR15 recommendation

Looking to buy some firearms before they are outlawed. I currently own quite a few but haven't bought any in a while. Looking for 5.56, cost under $1,200 before sights. Looking at Spikes Tactical, DPMS or????

What rifle and sights do you guys recommend?

best bang for your buck imo is a Daniel Defense.

if you want to splurge, go full on Noveske.

Colt 6920 is the minimum standard that most compare ARs to.

i own a LMT 14.5(with pinned flash) upper mated to an RRA lower and a Noveske 10.5 MK18 upper mated to a Mega lower. both rifles were built from the ground up by yours truely. the 14.5 uses Troy flip sights front and back along with an Aimpoint Micro H-1. the 10.5 uses an LMT Tactical rear and front, with no red dot sight.

i agree with the guy above me, Noveske is pretty much top of the line but it has the price tag attached to it. Daniel Defense is a VERY good rifle, but it will cost more than the $1,200 limit you specified. Larue Tactical makes an awesome gun as well, but you will pay for it. Colt 6920 is still reasonably priced at $1,200-1,300 from the gun shows the past few weeks. spikes makes a great gun as well. the only real world experience i have with the AR platform is with my rifle.

i have a m&p15 5.56 that has never failed me. not a single jam or malfunction. it has been a very reliable rifle for the year or so that i've had it. i think it was $975 when my dad purchased it 2-3 years ago. the past few gun shows i went to had them averaging around $1,100-1,200. i have since put Magpul FDE furniture on it and put nikon p-223 glass up top. the single best mod i would recommend to anyone is a BCM gunfighter charging handle. even if you don't want to mod it, i would still recommend it.

from my experience, the larger manufacturers tend to be priced lower. a year ago, you could get a DPMS 5.56 for around $600, but i would stay away from them personally. you can get a m&p15 sport for ~$300 less than the one i have but it has no forward assist and no dust cover among other small details.

im slowly building a Daniel Defense 300 blackout but after recent events, it might be sped up quite a bit...

Think of any purchase, regardless of price, as an investment. i feel we will have a permanent "assault weapon" ban in the coming months. rack up all the guns, ammo, and mags while they're still available!
