Bridgestone J40 CB Irons Input

Hey I was wondering how you J40 CB players feel about the irons. I currently play the 710 MB's from Titleist and was wondering if the J40 CB's will have that same blade feel like that of my current irons.

Titleist = clicky sound/feeling. B'stone = mmmmmmmm buttery mashed potatoes feeling.

Look will be similar at address. Thin topline short heel to toe. Even thought the J40 CB looks like it has a bigger muscle pad in the back it's hardly noticible at address.

Sounds interesting, but is the feel so buttery that you don't feel the ball coming off the club because that is a big deal to me.

I played them for a few months and went back to my R9 TP's.
Great looking sticks but the faces felt beyond soft, more like dead, to me.
To each his own...

I have both irons. I'm sure you already know the answer by now, but for those reading in the future. The 710mb is nowhere near as mushy feeling as the J40, and personally, when you hit either right they feel awesome. A lot will depend on your shaft, but to say the J40 is much softer is not unrealistic. I love both irons, so I wouldn't say anything bad about either.

Played 710s in the past, now I use j40s. They do feel softer but I wouldn't say they feel "mushy". Not hardly. They're definitely not as clicky as titleist irons, but the ball doesn't melt into the face either. Blade lengths are also clearly longer than mbs. You will notice that right away. That's my only gripe with the j40s, I wish they were just a bit smaller. Forgiveness is ample but your not sacrificing any feel. Both great sticks, but I prefer the j40s.

Love my J40 CBs, the shaft pairing it crucial though. When struck well the ball melts into the face, hard to describe the feeling but perfection isn't far off.

The j40 are much bigger than the titliest with a larger sole. I bought a brand new set recently, but wound up selling them because I didn't like the way you can see the back of the 3 iron at address.

Well they didn't last long

Put it this way; if Titleist came out w/ the J40 CB irons, they'd probably be the best selling irons Titleist ever sold, IMHO.
