Lots of nice looking putters there. I know they brought the "special" ones to the show, but it also appears they might be moving in the direction of more customization and one offs. Cool to see.

Many nice putters there, but pricing seems high, and the old gun smith in me is crying when i see welding seems in that finish on hosel/head like on some of them. Dont tell me its art, because its got nothing to do with art, but bad design and bad craftsmanship, and a complete shame at that price level. The welder needs to take some classes before he attend at this level, unless they do some job on that after welding. IMO they should have been taken off the program in respect for the other models who really stands out as stunning, but high priced. Sorry for my sour post, but when pricing becomes this high, there should be nothing to put your finger on, but here its screaming out bad on some models.

Thanks for educating us on what is and isn't Art Howard!

People, at least some people, pay more for the unfinished neck weld look. Its not "bad craftsmanship" nor "bad design" it's done intentionally. If they wanted it to be clean, they can certainly make it that way.

It happens every year at PGA show time. The pics come in and all the experts chime in with what this or that company should have done. It's fine to voice an opinion that you don't like it, But it takes an unbelievable amount of arrogance for anyone to suggest they know better how to do something than the people actually doing it. If you think you can do it better and more inexpensively, order some billets of steel and get to work.

For the record, I don't own any high price custom putter and have never, I don't believe, even held a Piretti in my hands.

Why is it that every putter maker now thinks they can plaster a putter with a ton of random stamps and charge $1, 000+ for it now. For so much talk about Cameron always copying things, seems there has been a lot blatantly copied from him.
That would be a copy of a copy then. And the stamps dont draw the price, The idea that its handmade does. Well, not for me but i begrudge no one who feels that way.

+1
The most copied design is the Anser. But more to your point, if people have the cash to blow on a putter with a name and fancy headcover, then more power to you. In my opinion there's much better putters out there. But if that's what you love, then by all means spend way. Don Cameron certainly appreciates your patronage.

I have just emailed the Piretti website with some interest and questions a couple of days ago, but havent recieved any reply. Does anyone know on here how they achieve the different weight variations in the models? ie making a putter between 355g to 375g. Do they increase the actual size of the head or get weights into it somehow? Figure if they are milling from a solid piece of steel, that would be....impossible I guess. Perhaps in the shaft tip then?

Any reviews on the Matera vs the Teramo HS? Pretty sure I'm a face-balanced or minimal toe flow kind of guy.

Thanks,

BTW long time listener, first time caller.....your'e on th air!
