I don't get his shaft selections - Bassara in driver which is the highest launching shaft in the world and Speeder TS and Proforce V2 low launchers in his fairways and hybrids?

Actually, makes a great deal of sense when considering the fact that he is a relatively high spin player in woods- go with a lower loft driver to get spin rate down and use a higher launch shaft to get launch angle up a bit.

This makes a lot of sense. Clubhead controls spin much more than shaft in my opinion.

Still a shock to see a 50 gram shaft in his driver

Loft and head are the biggest factors to control spin rate and launch angle. Still a relatively short hitter who probably prefers a softer feeling shaft in the driver. There are tons of ways to get it done... but hes almost always used a lightweight in the driver going back several years. I'm finding with better players they're using shaft to control feel.

Wondering about the driver shaft. I'm still playing an old Callaway FT-3 Tour, 10.5 degree, fade bias, with Bassara 63 x5ct stiff. LOVE the shaft/head combo, but looking for some newer technology. Checked Mitsubishi website...they don't list a W-50 but do list W-53. They state the shaft as 47", so curious on Ben's driver shaft length. Looks significantly longer in the pics.

Also in the market for new irons. Interested in the SteelFiber, but can't find anywhere to test prior to plunking down that kind of $$.
