Opinions Needed: Best "Forgiving" Irons

BJL

What say you?
With winter approaching, one needs a slightly more forgiving set of irons. But no one on here wants anything that looks clunky. So, what are the best "forgiving" irons that still have some level of player's club feel and profile?

TS-202? Rac LT? X-Tours? MP-60? Or something else altogether?

Let me know what you think.

I would say the Taylor Made Rac LTII's. They're cast, very forgiving and still provide great feel and touch.

If you still want to forged, although you're looking for a winter set of irons and forged rust more easily than cas, I would say the Mp-60's are a great set. If you want more forgiveness than the Mp-60 provide, look for the X-tour's or even the great Mizuno Mx-23 :idhitit:

I've tried many sets of irons, but the irons I have just started using are the best I have ever hit. They are the 1 Irons. Same length, lie angle, weight, larger grip, and lcg. This is not an ad, but you asked the question.

I just about died laughing when I read this, it reminds me of a friend of mine telling me a story about a guy he knew. This is 50 years ago mind you, but this guy is always trying something different, not a bad golfer really but not that good either. Anyway, one day he's hitting his 9 iron very well, matter of fact it's the only club in his bag he is hitting well that day.

Next day my friend is standing on the 1st tee getting ready to tee em up when this guy walks up, ROTFLMFAO! he says, every club in this guys bag is the same length, he'd gone home and cut them all to 9 iron length. They play together that day, the guy sucks as usual with his new bag of all the same size clubs. LOL A week later he had them reshafted.

My friend tells this story on occasion and it's always funny, and upon reading this post, this is especially funny reading this in here. :idhitit:

I know its tough trying to parrot everything you read without trying it. As for you friend who has a hard time playing golf, just cutting down your shaft doesnt do the trick.

I think you'd better step back and read what I wrote, instead of injecting what you thought I said. :idhitit:

The 1 iron concept has gained a lot of converts, and IMO the idea behind it is very sound.
