I mean right now. Cold turkey. Clubs gone. Golfwrx gone. Golf magazines gone. Can't talk about it. Ever.

Seeing as I didn't swing a club between Aug '08 and Dec '11, I could do it for some amount of time.
That said, with me and my best friends spread across North America, getting together to golf a few times a year and eat, drink, and talk sh1te, are some of the highlights of my year. Not sure I'd want to give that up.

I love the game, but I really love not working.......I could find another hobby, and some lucky wrx'er would get a pretty nice bag for washing my new benzo:)

No doubt. I could find other things (probably more productive) to do with my time and to relax. ESPECIALLY if I had $1MM.

Now, I would miss the hell out of this game. But this game has not (and won't ever) put food in my child's mouth or pay for his education.

It sounds like a lot of money, but over the course of a lifetime, it really isn't. So, with that in mind, I will continue to play.

Now, if this offer is directed at avowed club hoes who spend a small fortune each and every year on clubs, you just might be able to have your cake and eat it too. The money that has been directed towards hoeing could be invested and over the course of the next 25-30 years, you could amass a tidy sum indeed.

I would have to move to a big lake with no golf courses right away. The only way I could get off of golf would be to completely replace it with fishing.

So, does this mean that I would have to give up every single thing related to golf, essentially as if somebody flipped a switch and there was a perception field surrounding me to hide all facets of golf? No thanks. Come back to me if your number reaches $10 mil.

If I needed the money to provide for my family yes. As of now I wouldn't take it. Not even close to being worth it.

Yup. That is a significant amount of money that would afford my family a very nice, comfortable future. I love golf, but for that much cash....bye, bye golf. There are plenty of other hobbies to take up. BTW, I'm a 1 handicap and LOVE the game....so it wouldn't be easy.

As I play pool much more than golf, I wouldn't be lacking for that kind of outlet in my life. Pool players make so little money I could travel and take lessons from world champions for 50-100 hr...less than local PGA instructors who have never come close to the tour charge.
