Xenon Putters: Share Your Pictures and Stories

Hello again,

My last topic was locked due to a rules violation on my part. I apologize for that and thank the moderators for not completely deleting the topic.

I wanted to share my Xenon Putter experience and was hoping this thread could become a centralized location to show off your putters and share some pictures and stories. Maybe we'll even get the man himself to comment on some or answer any questions.

I started noticing Xenon putters on a different website and was interested in some of the unusual stylings. I contacted Ken about making me a putter and he had one in my hands in about two weeks. I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted or even if I wanted copper or stainless steel so he sent me a copper built to my specs to try out and see if it was something I wanted to buy. I wound up drastically changing my mind from an Anser style to what you'll see in the pics below. He told me to draw him a picture of what I wanted and he'd make it. The topic of payment for the putters never even came up until Ken knew I was completely happy with what I had. What a philosophy! Thanks Ken! I'm already drawing out number 2.

I found Xenon putters by doing a search for "damascus putter" on Ebay. After asking a few questions about the neck, Ken offered to hand make me one that I liked more at no upcharge. I'll echo everything Tie said about how fast, easy and reasonable the whole process is with Ken. For my second putter, I sent him some pics of one of my favorite putters and asked him to get as close to the shape as possible. I am very happy with how it turned out. Pics of the 2nd are putter are the one's ken sent me, as I've been too busy rolling it around the house to take in-hand pics yet. Puts a great roll on the ball!

I had seen a little bit of Ken's work around PutterTalk. I've been in touch with Tie (Lee) since last year about our Byron Morgan putters. Lee showed me what Ken did for him and then I saw the copper one that Finch had Ken make, I couldn't resist. I emailed Ken with some ideas because I didn't want the putter to be the same as Finch's. I have always been fond of custom necks since I started having custom putters made. This is by far my favorite neck. I know for my next putter with Ken, i'll be drawing something up like what Lee did. Enjoy the pictures.

Wow! Justin. That came out awesome. I love the "oil hue" finish on yours and Finch's. judging by what you've come up with so far on your other custom putters, I'm sure the one you draw up will be unlike anything we've seen before.

Thanks Lee, though I like the Newport style putter heads, it will most likely be a play on that...probably not far off from this new copper one

Just got the putter today...such an absolutely amazing putter. The feel is unreal. The look is just awesome. Took some macro shots for you guys and one at address. Will definitely be drawing a putter up for Ken to "Hand Craft". So let the pictures do the talking...

Ivan, You must have as big of an arch in your stroke as I do. What is the playing length and what size/style grip? That is an incredibly unique finish. Was that your idea? Thanks for sharing your pictures. I have a feeling this one is going to become a crowd favorite. You'll have to post a review after the putter arrives. Keep in mind, it is going to be jet-lagged after the long flight from Tennessee.

Its 34inc with a leather stichback. The color and most of the features of the putter were just an idea in my head which Lump made into reality. It was his creativity that made it look as good as it does. Im very happy with it.

Just emailed for a quote, your guys putters look great, did thy come with a headcover or no?

They come with a great headcover that was custom made for Xenon, in black with blue flames.
It is one of the highest quality covers i have seen.
Like everything else with this putter maker, it is top notch.

They come with a yellow head cover with a velcro back. You can see shots of it in my pics, but if you need any more I can take one and throw it up

Bule...that was actually a small run of headcovers. I assume that Lump was putting those on some hand mades. I bought one off of him...quality is quite awesome...so much so that I'm keeping it for display since I don't want to mess it up

I think all the new Handmades get the black with Blue flames.

Just received the order form.. I am quite excited for a new putter... I think I am becoming a club ho when I have a putter I love (my cameron), one being custom built as we speak by DW Davis from Prototype Putters as well as ordering another custom Xenon Putter... This can't be a good thing LOL

This is true. At least until the remaining 8 or so are gone. I'm not sure if Ken will do another run like this or not. They were pretty costly.

Just received my hand made Damascus steel putter when I got to my office this morning. It came out better than I had hoped for. Great work by Lumpy. I will post pics when I get home and take some. Thanks again Ken.

Looks Great, Darren. I love the look of the raw copper and minimal unfilled stamping. Classic!
