College Degree to get into Management

Okay fellas I am a freshman majoring in Business-Marketing (I can change concentration very easily) at Kent State- Trumbull on the track for associates then all classes transfer as classes for bachelors, I am thinking about after my associates going to Kent- Salem to get a Turfgrass Degree because it will only take a year and my family is considered "poor" by the government so I get a lot of aid. I started at Ohio State-ATI in Turfgrass Management my first semester of college, so I have background in turf and hate that job (yes I worked on the grounds crew, my grandpa pushed me into that because he new I loved golf and he has taught me a lot about the equipment side etc.), but HERES THE QUESTION basically what I am looking to know is how to prepare yourself, through education, to get into the management of the golf course I love the game and being around it even when I am not playing, my most realistic goal would be to work at a private club like Barrington, Sand Ridge, Pepper Pike, Canterbury etc. in the Cleveland area I live an hour southeast in Warren area Ohio. What I am looking for is does anyone have experience in these positions and how do you hire or did you get a position, I am not looking to make a killing doing it, but I would like to support my future family in my profession.
