Bermuda golf

Headed to Bermuda tomorrow for a week and debating about bringing my clubs. I've got a few questions

1. Mid Ocean Club

- I'm not staying at a Hotel, is it possible to get on during the M,W,F public playing times?

- Is it worth the $250?

2. Carting my clubs around. We'll be using the bus sytem in Bermuda. I've heard you can't bring clubs on the buses? Are they really strict about this? I'm staying up near St Georges and would really like to play Port Royal but I really don't want to have to pay the $50 taxi ride each way. I'd rather take a much longer time to get there and save the $$ if I could bring my clubs on the bus.

3. Port Royal looks like a great track. Is it the best? Tuckers and Mid Ocean I'm sure are swanky but I could care less about service and atmosphere. As long as the course is in good shape that's all that matters

Any help would be appreciated!

We vacation to Bermuda every year and I've played them all...I would say that Mid Ocean, Tucker's Point and Port Royal are all about the same as far as golf course aesthetics and scenery is concerned. They are all around the same price as well ($250). Take a scooter, stick your clubs on your back and ride out to the courses. I will tell you that there is a shortish course called Riddell's Bay that is a fun track with some spectacular views that costs about $60. I would recommend that one as well for a fun round at a low price, it just only plays about 6100 yards. Have fun!

Do I need a license to ride a scooter?

Heading to Bermuda for Thanksgiving and booked Port Royal and Riddell's Bay for Wed and Thursday. May sneak in 18 at Turtle Hill on Friday before heading to the airport in the late afternoon.

Will do. I actually booked my rounds on golfnow.com and got them at 40% off. I called the hotel and they were going to charge me full rate. Can't wait to play and hopefully the weather will cooperate.

I also have rounds booked at Port Royal and Belmont Hills. The last time I played Mid Ocean I was totally underwhelmed with the conditioning and service. Any resort reports on how the courses are this spring.. I was there last October after the first hurricane hit and got off just before the second arrived. Lots of damage from the first.
