RBZ Tour 4 Wood

I just picked up a tour issue RBZ Tour 4 Wood from ebay last night. I have used the same tour issue V Steel 3 wood with a diamana blueboard 83s tipped 1.5" for many years. I went with the 4 wood in the RBZ instead of the 3 wood since they go so far and i didnt want to throw off my gaps too much.

I am debating between throwing the old blueboard shaft into the RBZ or possibly picking up a Matrix Black Tie 7m3 or 8m3. I figure the black tie being so low launch and low spin would somewhat offset the higher loft of the 4 wood.

Has anyone tried the combo of a RBZ Tour 3 or 4 wood with a black tie shaft? If so, what kind of results have you found? Also, should i tip that black tie 1.5" like i did with my old blueboard? I've heard the black tie is super tip stiff already so maybe i should tip it a little less. Anyone have any opinions about that also?

I have the 7m3 X flex in my RBZ tour Spoon. UNBELIEVABLE combination. Best 3 wood I have ever owned. Great trajectory, boring flight. Tipped standard 1.5 for me. Will not leave the bag anytime soon.

So just a quick update

I ended up putting a 7m3 Black Tie into my RBZ Tour 4 wood, tipped it 1.5" and it plays just under 43". This thing is an absolute cannon.

I was skeptical that anything could be better than my trusty V Steel with a Blueboard in it, but this new combo blows it away. I had that old club in the bag for so long that I knew exactly how far it went on all types of ball flights. So far, the additional carry on the RBZ is at least 15 to 20 yards longer in carry. The roll out is a bit less, but the overall distance in difference is over ten yards.

Now, I am worried if this throws off my gap between the fairway wood and my hybrid. I've been considering getting an Adams LSP 20* tour issue, as that would decrease my gap. Then again, it would increase the gap between hybrid and 4 iron. There is always a give and take in this game! Maybe I should just choke up on the 4 wood and leave everything else the same.

All these threads about the 7m3 make me want to get a new fairway head and try the one I just picked up out. Currently using a Motore F3 90x in my 3w so maybe I will pick up a 5w and see how the matrix holds up. Got a good deal on it, but changed my mind right after paying so now it is just sitting around.
