Top 10 or so in no order

The National
St Georges
Shaughnessy
Hamilton
Beacon Hall
RedTail
King Valley
Rockey Crest
Royal Montreal
Kananaskis Mt Kidd
Kananaskis Lorette

I also really like Summit, Heron Point and Wyndance

I am sure I have forgotten a couple. I was not impressed with Crowbush at all. I hear Muskoka Bay is fantastic

Don't love any of the oldies in downtown Toronto, nice but not top 10

I liked cobble much more than lora bay ... we have a cottage on lora bay , but play over at the Georgan Bay Club ... (really great setup there)
Tarandowah is fun , for sure unique , bring lots of balls ...

I play at the london hunt and its pretty special , I would add westmount to the list , GB club , National , St Georges , Red tail is cool for some of the history and greens , though has dropped off a bit in the rankings for some reason , Muskoka Golf and Country Club , Lake Joe is nice ...

Best course in Calgary area is River Spirit for two reasons: Great IPA stock in the fridge, and hottest quench wench in the province! course is about a 6 out of 10 but who's counting.

Best milkshake in Canada is at the half way shed at the Calgary GCC. I don't know what they put in that thing but one day I had to cancel a tee time there and i still went in late in the day to get a shake. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

As far as the actual question goes, Royal Colwood is pretty cool. Point Grey too.... Losing the Kananaskis courses is a travesty. Could head to that property and not even bother bringing clubs. Just a camera.

Banff Springs is the course they have on the other side of the pearly gates.... Should be on anyone buckets list.

Can agree with your's list with one notable exception. Angus North? IMHO it is an ok course at best, great for corporate tournaments but would not fall in my top 50.

Here is my list in no particular order.

Banff Springs
Crowbush
Hamilton G&C
St Georges.
Osprey Heathlands
Rocky Crest
Cobble Beach
Highland Links
Coppinwood
Osprey Hoot

On my bucket list:

Capilano
Royal Montreal
Jasper
Red Tail
Fox Harb'r

Notable other courses:

Toronto GC - would rather play Lakeview across the street
Cabot Links - overprice average course on water, locals are wonderful.
Glen Abbey - average front nine, back nine doesn't make up for the front

In that neck of the woods, I'd go with Sirocco. I think you can do an annual (only once though before you need to join). Great track and usually in good shape.

For those who picked Bear Mountain as a favourite, there are some changes happening very soon. The Valley Course will be redesigned (more like rerouted) to two concentric nines. There will also be permanent structures for washrooms and a food service facility.

The Mountain course will deconstruct #10, the back nine will start on the island par 3 hole (old #11, new #10) and the cliff side gambling hole (old #19, new #14) will be in the regular rotation for a par of 70. I'm not sure what the slope rating from the tips will be. At par 72, the slope was 151. The raters will have to come out and redo it.

The resort was purchased by Ecoasis and they are putting some much needed $$$ into the course and infrastructure. Looks to be a good year at the Bear. Come on out and play it.

If you are planning a golf trip to the rockies a great place to stay is Invermere, BC.

Has 4 or 5 quality golf courses within a 30 minute drive (Grey Wolf, Eagle Ranch, Copperpoint, Radium Springs, Fairmont). My personal favorite is Grey Wolf, but they are all very nice.

I see a number of people mention Banff Springs. It is a beautiful location and course, but I just feel it is over priced. People want to play it because it is the one everyone hears about. Banff is a great place to visit, but if you want to golf, head out to the Invermere area.

Great news re new number 14. I always thought it was a shame that it wasn't part of the regular rotation. Any idea what the plan is for the land old number 10 sits on?
