Titleist 913F vs 906F4 best fairway wood off the deck

Hi experts-

Looking for general advice. Huge fan of the new 913 series. I'm bagging a 913D2 10.5 and 913H 21 deg. As you can tell, I'm missing a club in between.

I know there is a cult following for the 906F fairway woods here. So I went out to my local Golfsmith and test hit a 906F4 15.5 with Adilia VS Proto and now I know why. I've always struggled hitting fairway woods off the deck and this help launched it high. I was getting about 200 yards of carry, 20 yards of roll and a fairly straight ball flight.

Then I tried the 913F 15 deg w Diamana Blue + Stiff. I was getting the same carry but lots more roll, with a lower launch. However it wasn't nearly as straight. However when I really went after it, I could hit it 230-240.

So now I'm looking for advice. Do I go with the 906F4 in 15.5? Which shaft Adilia VS Proto or Diamana Blueboard (made for Titleist)?

Or do I go for it and get the 913F in either the 15 or 17 deg? And which shaft?

I just want it to hit straight and high and off the deck.

Thanks everyone.

I absolutely love my 906F4 with GD YS-6. I've hit plenty of fairway woods in the past couple years and the 906 wins out over everything. I haven't hit the 913 though, so I can't really compare those clubs. However, the 906 is just a super solid club. I love the way contact feels, just a solid pure thud and the ball takes off. The F4 definitely does launch the ball higher, but with the 15.5 degree loft I think that is a plus. Long, high and straight! And I can't emphasize the straight enough. The 906 is a super consistent club.

Great off the tee and the deck. I also like the smaller head size. It seems like I can square up the head better and it makes it easier going through light rough as well. Go check out ebay for a used 906, you can find them pretty cheap. I promise that it will be a worthwhile experiment. My 906 won't be leaving the bag any time soon.....I may just snag another one for backup duty.

the 906F2 was a game changer for me, literally. went through about five 3 woods in one season til I found that little guy. awesome from the tee and the fairway. I've never hit the 906F4, but have read it's basically the "F", with the F2 being the "Fd" so to speak.

after reading your post, makes complete sense to buy the 906 instead of the 913 if you had better (straighter) results. I've only had the VS Proto in a hybrid, but it's a great shaft.

I have played an f2 three wood and an f4 fice wood since they first came out. Tried the newer models as they were released but I haven't hit any of them as well. I think they are great clubs.

In a more rational world manufacturers would not replace better clubs with lesser clubs just because its a new model year, but I understand the desire to make money as well.
