Need opinions of a Cameron I recently acquired

I'm looking for some opinions of what I believe to be an early handmade. I am confident that it is legit, but the grip and top line have me wondering. If anybody has any thoughts on this putter, I would greatly appreciate it.

This is more than likely a situation where you'd want to contact Titleist/Custom Shop. I've heard of instances where, assuming this is legit, they will offer you a handsome trade for the item you have. That's also assuming Mr. Cameron wants it. There's really no other way to verify the legitimacy of your putter. Good luck.

Did someone just cut off the hosel and weld into the cavity? I would say that's almost certainly not legit.

Wouldn't supprise me if it was legit. I've seen a few older Scotty's with this neck location but the weld don't look to good on this one so it has me thinking it could have once been fully legit then someone re positioned the neck and welded it up themselfs.

what makes you so sure that it is legit did it come with a COA from the custom shop??

To me it looks too rough to even be a early scotty.. his early "Scott Cameron" hand mades were never that rough looking from what I have seen.

I am also almost positive that on his hand mades he never simply "Stamps" Scotty Cameron on it.. it's usually weld stamped.. This thing doesn't look even a bit authentic to me.

The reason I felt it was legit is because it came from an LPGA tour winner

No, it was never cut off the hosel, it was originally welded into the cavity.

Yes, I am certainly going to send it in, but I just found it this morning, and I am real curious.

If I was you I'd post this on TCC and see what they have to say.

Just so it's clear I'm not trying to rag your pickup. Sounds like sweet story (tour pickup) and I guarantee you someone on here or TCC can help you out with authentication. I would never send that back to Cameron though as you probably wouldn't get it back

What would make you think cameron wouldn't give it back? That's called theft and I'm sure Scotty's shop don't break the law.

Btw, the LPGA player who I got this from, won a single tournament in the early 90's, so the time frame fits. Has anyone ever seen that model Danny Edwards grip on a Cameron?

I'm pretty sure most of the early handmades have that grip.
