My buddy Tim at The Golf Station said the shaft has the Recoil technology in the butt section of the shaft. The 55g and 65g shafts will be mid launch and available in R and S with the TS (tour stiff) having a lower torque. If you're interested I'm sure you can call and check on availability.

You've got to think the name had to come from that contest even though the graphics didn't. That's pretty cool to think that GolfWRX had a hand in new product development!

I dunno, we came up with a ton of ideas, probably a bunch of other companies had some of them on the shelf for future releases and now have to come up with something else! haha. I loved that contest. Glad you got your shaft, how's it working for you? I hit a VTS Red 8S in an Adams 9015 LDA this weekend. Man, felt so heavy, low launch for me.

Yeah, there sure were a ton of ideas in there. The creativity of this place knows no bounds. That was probably my favorite contest to date and not because I won. I had a ton of fun just coming up with the ideas and designs.

Well, I got the shaft installed but I haven't had a chance to hit it yet. I have a VTS Black Hybrid 100HXX in my Super LS 5wood/17° hybrid and LOVE it in there. I get a nice mid-high flight with it that is as flat as anything I've ever hit. It's probably the most stable shaft I've ever played without feeling like a piece of re-bar. Since the shaft I got was a silver, I'm thinking it's going to feel buttery smooth but still very stable, like a moisturized rhino. I can't do light shafts. The lightest shaft I have is in my driver and even that is almost 80g. I need the weight to calm my tempo or it feels like I'm swinging a fishing pole.

I love the fact that UST still makes heavy shafts available to retail AND their "80g" shafts aren't merely 82 or 83g in X but 88 or 90g. The NV85 I had in the 3deep before was just too soft and too light for my preference.

Not sure if you guys noticed but the shaft is ION plated similar to our RECOIL Iron Shafts. It looks great in any head!

The tech behind the shaft is different than other shaft manufacturers but more to follow. If you guys have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks,

Danny
[/quote]

Danny, can you expand on the tech? Will there be three versions of this like the two previous Elements lines?

I have the Recoils in my irons and really like them. I am interested in hearing about the technology in this shaft and what type of swing it is geared towards.

There is currently only one version and we think it is the right direction.

If you look at traditional/current design on wood shafts, it has been to maximize hoop strength in the butt section to eliminate wall flex. With the development of RECOIL Iron Shafts, our engineering team determined that some hoop flex has a positive influence on golf shaft performance. Elements Chrome is for players wanting to generate more ball speed. We have seen increases of 3-5 mph ball speed. This is only one element in making this shaft work...

Other than increased ball speed what is the desired ballflight pattern supposed to be? In terms of launch, spin, apex height, etc? Or has your player testing produced any noticable results other than distance? Assuming distance was increased. Increse/decrease spin? Increase/decrease Launch? Increase/decrease Angle of decent? Increase/decrease max height of apex? Possibly comparing this to the closest current UST offering?

In the testing we have seen, mid launch with low spin and again increased efficiency with regards to ball speed. It was the same thing we noticed with RECOIL Iron Shafts - better dispersion and ball speed.

It would be hard to compare this to any current offerings because it is a different design than we have done in the past.

Elements Earth is a different profile and will typically launch lower vs. Elements Chrome. At the end of the day, I would recommend hitting our new Elements Chrome and see the difference for yourself. We think you will like it when you hit it.

when will be commercially available?
How much will it cost?

The TX and TS flexes in 60 and 70 are available now through our TSPX Dealer Network. The R and S versions will be available in November and you should see prices around $300.

The elements chrome will be different from our previous offerings such as the attas line where there were ts and tx flexes. In our previous lines, ts and tx were tweenener flexes with ts being sx and tx being xx. The ts and tx designations in the elements chrome line is focusing on torque. The standard stiff will have an extremely similar profile the ts while having a bit more torque. Just gives fitters and consumers a couple more options. Thanks.
